 Blog Home : January 2008

January 4, 2008 20:32 - Barcelona is a wonderful city but be aware that, as with any city, it has its problems too.

Feedback from site visitor Hilary Lincoln in the UK:
Barcelona is a fantastic city but after dark please be aware of the dangers of theft. We were in the city for the New Year and thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere in the Old Town but as we left our restaurant, my bag was snatched. Staff in the restaurant were very supportive but resigned and as for the police, find them first!!! Don't be put off visiting but just be very vigilent, theives find you at your most relaxed moment and strike.Expect a long queue at the police station!!!

January 5, 2008 19:17 - The Sales in Barcelona Start Monday 7th January

The large department store El Corte Ingles have released their official date for the first day of the January Sales for 2008 in Barcelona. Their doors will open with the first day of the January sales on Monday 7th January. The names used for the sales in Barcelona are Rebajas (Spanish), or Rebaixes in Catalan. Many other shops will be rolling out their sales offer after this date. So if you want to do some bargain shopping in Barcelona why not visit the sales in Barcelona and make it a bargain shopping visit.

January 12, 2008 23:03 - The Sales Are On In Barcelona

Yes the sales are in full swing in Barcelona and judging by the thousands of extra people filling the city this Saturday it looks like that they are proving to be a big success this year. Corte Ingles customer services told me today that they will have sales until the end of February whilst another well know electrical store Miro told me their sales will be going on only until the 20th of February. So if you want to enjoy the city and do some bargain shopping now is the time to visit Barcelona!
