May 4, 2009 13:52 - It’s David O’Doherty Time In The Giggling Guiri

It is testament to the profile and reputation of our rooms that the GG (www.comedyinspain.com) has achieved over the years
that for the 2nd year in a row we will close our season with the biggest prize winning show in comedy. Last year’s King of the
Edinburgh Fringe festival, one which contained a record 800+ comedy shows, was the wonderful Irish comic DAVID O’DOHERTY
whose show ‘LET’S COMEDY’ was the comedy cream that rose to the top!!

O’ Doherty played the GG before in 2006 in an EL FEILE ‘Best of Irish’ Comedy Special with Neil Delamere, in what was one of
the most legendary and memorable comedy shows, still described by the GG comedy connoisseurs as one of the funniest
moments of in the last 4 seasons of the club.

The GG programmers have been to all the DOD’s shows in Edinburgh since. They have all been outstanding yet each year
remaining on a steady upward curve and so it was no surprise he won the big one.

David has been touring this show bringing his wonderful, singular offbeat style and his trusty Yamaha keyboard to every major festival and some of the biggest stages in performance comedy. These two dates in Spain will take place in possibly the most intimate venues of that tour and is without a
doubt the comedy event of the Year in Spain. We expect sell outs for what we guarantee is a very special night of comedy.
Can there be anything more evil than someone trying their damndest to give musical comedy a good name?
Dublin's David O'Doherty not only attempts this malevolent feat, but succeeds to the point of very nearly elevating this stand-up subgenre to true art.
