Tourist Information at Barcelona Airport Terminal 1 (T1), September 2009: Tourist Services at Barcelona Airport

Barcelona Airport offers two types of information – tourist information and airport information. The tourist information stands are available to help you with advice relating to all things Catalunya – tourist attractions, travel around the region, hotels and everything in between. Where are the Tourist Information Stands at Barcelona Airport T1?

At time of writing (September 2009) the tourist information desk has not yet been created at Barcelona Airport T1. A member of the Aena Airport team has confirmed that they hope to be able to provide an office in Terminal 1 within a month. Until this time, the Aena Airport information desk at T1 will do what they can to answer tourist related questions.

If you have a more in-depth query, it may be necessary to head to the Tourist Information desks that are located in Terminal 2 at Barcelona Airport. Here they will be able to help you to book a hotel, plan transport and consider the tourist attractions in the region of Catalunya.

It is possible to take a free shuttle bus from T1 to T2. Buses are available, on average, every fifteen minutes and the journey lasts approximately ten minutes. Aena have already planned the location of the Tourist Information desk at T1. For this reason, on your arrival at the airport, if you have any queries, it is worth checking whether the desk is, in fact, open. It will be located next to the Arrivals gate on Level 0 of the airport T1 building.

On arrival at the airport, Tourist Information is often the first port of call for visitors. From experience, the tourist information stands at Barcelona Airport T2 are very impressive – staff are informative and friendly and the information on offer is wide-ranging. Hopefully, the soon-to-come information desk at T1 will follow suit and be a useful tool at the airport.
