Casa Batlló by Antoni Gaudi -Barcelona Photo Guide
Casa Batlló is often overlooked by many people because it's on the same road as La Pedrera (also by Gaudí ) and the latter of the two buildings draws more attention. I personally don't know why as Casa Batlló is a stunning creation and every bit as awe inspiring as La Pedrera.
Casa Batlló was designed by Gaudí for a wealthy Barcelona Aristocrat. The lower levels were for the owner and the upper floors for renting. The "house" is now a museum and I highly recommend visiting this building. My brother and I visited Casa Batllo for an afternoon and spent the rest of the evening discussing why Gaudí had placed two ornamental pillars in the entrance to the terrace. Gaudí' s work activates your imagination and challenges you to ask questions, so be prepared to be thinking about what he was trying to achieve well after you've left his creations!
