Introduction To The Fira Barcelona Gran Via

The Fira Barcelona Gran Via Conference Centre is located outside of Barcelona’s city centre, on the way towards Barcelona Airport. Is a huge building with an interesting modern design. 

The building is not available via Metro, but can be reached via an FGC train that leaves from Plaza Espanya.

Metro: Espanya (Red Line, L1) or (Green Line, L3), followed by FGC train to Europa or Fira.

How to travel to the conference centre from Barcelona Airport

There are 3 main ways to get to the conference centre from Barcelona Airport

1) Aerobus (Express bus service) and Metro
You catch the Aerobus outside of any of the Airports 2 terminals and get off at Plaza Espanya. From Plaza Espanya it is necessary to take the FGC train from the Metro station to Europa/Fira.
Travel time approx 45 minutes. Price of Aerobus 4.25 Euros. 1.35 Euros for Metro ticket. Total 5.60 Euros

2) RENFE Train and Metro
Catch the RENFE Train from the airport to Sants Estacio and then change at Sants Estacio for the metro (Subway) to Espanya on the green line. You should then take the FGC train from Espanya metro station to Fira/Europa.
Travel time Approx 1 hour Price 2.80 Euros for RENFE ticket and 1.35 Euros for Metro Ticket and 1.35 euros for FGC ticket Total 5.50 Euros.

3) Taxi
There is a large taxi rank service directly outside the airport. The price to the convention is around 20 Euros (there is a minimum charge of 20 euros for taxis from the airport) plus a small supplement for each suitcase that you have. Travel time approx 15 mins.

Prestige Congress Hotel

1) Prestige Congress Hotel - 4 Star hotel - 1 minutes walk from the conference centre

Due to the centre’s location outside of the city centre, there are few hotels in the area. However, you may wish to stay closer to Barcelona’s city centre and take the train to the conference centre. Hotels close to Plaza Espanya are useful for this:

Apartment Rental

An apartment offers an attractive alternative to a hotel room for your accommodation when visiting the conference centre.

Attractions Close to the Centre de Convencions Internacional de Barcelona Conference Centre

The Fira Barcelona Gran Via Conference Centre is located outside of walking distance of Barcelona city centre. It is in an area that is dominated mostly by an industrial park and business offices. There is little of touristic interest in the area.

However, right next to the conference centre there in the Gran Via 2 mall. This large shopping centre holds over 200 shops and 20 restaurants. It also houses a 15 screen cinema.

IKEA

Next to the centre you will also find a large Ikea homeware store.
