Introduction
The Palau de congressos de Barcelona is a large conference centre situated in an atmospheric and picturesque location in Barcelona called Montjuic. There are quite a number of conference centres in Barcelona so make sure you don't get confused by their similar names!
This conference centre has access to excellent metro and bus transport connections from Placa Espanya which is only a 5 minutes walk from the centre.

How to get to the conference centre from Barcelona Airport
There are 3 main ways to get to the conference centre from Barcelona Airport
1) Aerobus (Express bus service) - You catch the Aerobus outside of any of the Airports 2 terminals and get off at Placa Espanya.
Travel time approx 30 minutes . Price €5.65.

2) RENFE Train and Metro
Catch the RENFE Train from the airport to Barcelona Sants and then change at Barcelona Sants for the metro (Subway) to Placa Espanya.
Travel time Approx 40 minutes Price €3.60 for RENFE ticket and
€2.00 for Metro Ticket Total €4.60.

3) Taxi
There is a large taxi rank service directly outside the airport. The pricej to the city centre is around €22.00 plus a small supplement for each suitcase that you have. Travel time approx 20 minutes .

Another option might be to stay in a hotel that is not walking distance but only a short taxi ride away. e.g. the Eurostars Grand Marina Hotel is a 5 star hotel overlooking the Barcelona Port Vell marina with great views of the Mediterranean and it's only 10 minutes ride away by taxi to the Palau de congressos de Barcelona.

Attractions close to the Fira de Barcelona conference center
The Palau de congressos de Barcelona conference centre is also only 5 minutes walk from the famous Catalan modern Art museum MNAC and is the location where Freddie Mercury sang "Barcelona" the theme music to the Olympic Games that were held here in 1992.
The Olympic stadium is only 15 minutes walk from the conference centre and is open to tourist. Entrance is free.
Another important sight near the conference centre is Magic Fountain of Montjuic which is a water and music extravaganza that runs every evening time ( times vary depending on the time of year click on the link above to get more information)
The Palau de Congressos de Barcelona is in a picturesque quarter of the city but at the same time offers excellent transport links from Placa Espanya. If you get the chance make sure you pop into the town centre (Placa Catalunya) and walk up the famous Las Ramblas - conferences are not all work work work you know!
