Introduction

The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya, otherwise known as El Palacio de Congresos de Cataluña is on the North Eastern side of Barcelona on Avenida Diagonal. Avenida Diagonal is a large road that runs right across the whole of Barcelona. The centre is located in up-town Barcelona, close to the Camp Nou football stadium and right next to the large Rey Juan Carlos hotel.

How to get to the conference centre from Barcelona Airport

There are 3 main ways to get to the conference centre from Barcelona Airport

1) Aerobus (Express bus service) and Metro
You catch the Aerobus outside of any of the Airports 2 terminals and get off at Plaza Espanya. From Plaza Espanya it is necessary to take the Metro - catch the green line from Espanya to Zona Universitaria.
Travel time approx 50 mins. Price of Aerobus 4.25 Euros. 1.35 Euros for Metro ticket. Total 5.60 Euros

2) RENFE Train and Metro
Catch the RENFE Train from the airport to Barcelona Sants and then change at Barcelona Sants for the metro (Subway) to Zona Universitaria. They are both on the green line.
Travel time Approx 40 mins Price 2.80 Euros for RENFE ticket and 1.35 Euros for Metro Ticket Total 4.15 Euros.

3) Taxi
There is a large taxi rank service directly outside the airport. The price to the city centre is around 22 Euros plus a small supplement for each suitcase that you have. Travel time approx 20 mins.

Attractions Close to the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya Conference Centre

The Palau de Congressos de Catalunya Conference Centre is located at the top end of Barcelona’s financial and business district. It is a ten minute walk from Barcelona FC’s Camp Nou stadium.

Close to the stadium you will also find many restaurants, cafes and a shopping centre. If you do not wish to take the walk, you can catch the Metro two stops, from Zona Universitaria to Maria Cristina.
