Abba Rambla Hotel Barcelona is located at the heart of Raval, in Barcelona's old town, on Rambla del Raval. Despite the hotel's name this should not be confused with Barcelona's famous Ramblas, as they are two different roads. However, Rambla del Raval does have its own charm. It is a reasonably large square with a pedestrianised section running through the centre. It has a growing number of bars and restaurants that bring life to the area.
The hotel itself is simple but appealing. Its lobby area is dominated by the breakfast area that is next to the front desk. This is made up of high tables and stools that are sleek and black and decorated with bright orange floral displays. The area is light, with a façade made up largely of windows, ensuring that sun floods into the building.
The hotel does not have a pool or a gym. Breakfast is served in the lobby area from 07:30 - 10:30 during the week and from 08:00 - 11:00 at weekends. Hot and cold food is served and it costs €13.50 per person.
In the same area there is also a small bar. This is open until 23:00.
Room service is not available. However, hotel staff will order a pizza from Telepizza for customers, which will be delivered to the hotel.

There are 20 rooms that face Rambla del Raval. Two of these have balconies. The windows all have double-glazing, however the street is popular for people who are going out in the evening so those who are hoping for a really quiet night's sleep should ask for an interior room.

The hotel is based in Raval's centre. There are many great opportunities for affordable eating and drinking in the area. Pollo Rico on Calle Sant Pau is well known amongst locals who are in need of a big feed when their pockets are light. It serves meats with rice and salad and there is an upstairs seating area as an alternative to a take-away option. Meals normally cost less than €5.00.
One of the popular bars in the area is Iposa, behind the Boqueria food market. It is small with low ceilings and wooden stools. In evenings it is filled with music and an enjoyable balance of youngsters and old regulars.

Close to Rambla del Raval you will also find the square that is home to the CCCB and MACBA. Alongside the beautifully designed modern buildings you will have the opportunity to sit in the square, enjoy the sunshine and watch the numerous skateboarders who flock to the area to practice their moves.
The hotel is within ten minutes walk of the Ramblas, where you will be at the centre of many of Barcelona's most popular tourist attractions. It is also where you will find most necessary amenities such as internet cafés, banks, pharmacies and supermarkets.

You can reserve a shared minibus transfer from Barcelona Airport to your hotel or vice versa. Note that this service is not a private service for you own group but the minibus will be shared with other passengers.
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around €25.00 - €30.00 depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gràcia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs €9.80 for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for €3.80. You then change at Passeig de Gràcia onto the Green Line metro and travel two stops to Liceu. Your hotel is then 10 minutes walk from the metro.
Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus ' to Plaza de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. From here, the hotel is 10 minutes in a taxi and will cost about €8.00 - €10.00. Alternatively, you can catch the metro from Catalunya to Liceu, just one stop on the Green Line, from where Abba Ramblas Hotel is a 10 minute walk.
Abba Ramblas hotel will appeal to those in search of affordable yet comfortable accommodation at the heart of Raval. Not as close to the Ramblas as its name may suggest, visitors to Raval may find that the area provides sufficient attractions of its own.
