AC Sants Hotel, Barcelona is located less than a minute’s walk from Barcelona Sants station – Barcelona’s largest train station. Of all of the large hotels based on Plaza Sants it is one of the smaller and more intimate options – with only 78 rooms. Its style is also more modern and ‘boutique’ than some of its competitors. However, it also has less facilities – there are no meeting rooms or business centre in the hotel.

The hotel’s exterior is chic, with a large brown wall jutting out to a pyramid position. The hotel’s lobby area is cast in a low lighting, creating a cosy feel to the area. The front desk sits to the left area of the lobby, behind a seating area. A large cream leather couch sits alongside a tube light that is twisted and turned into a writhing ball. A bar area to the right of the lobby is filled with individual leather seats and low black coffee tables.

The hotel’s situation is particularly convenient for travelers due to its location close to the station. For tourists it is a Metro journey from the touristic centre.

Hotel Facilities:

There is no pool or gym in the hotel. There is a restaurant that is open 24 hours. Buffet breakfast is served from 07:00 – 11:00 during the week and from 08:00 – 12:00 at weekends. It costs 16 euros per person. During the rest of the day cold foods such as sandwiches and salads are available. Room service is also available 24 hours.

Pets are not allowed in the hotel.

There are no meeting rooms available in the hotel. Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel and is charged at 12 euros per 24 hours – the 24 hours can be used over a maximum of four days. There is no business centre in the hotel.

There are four rooms available for wheelchair users. They have widened doors and adapted bathrooms. There are lifts to all floors.

There are a total of 78 rooms in the hotel over 4 floors. The rooms available are all doubles with King Size beds. Two of the rooms are Suites that can hold a maximum of four people.

All rooms have double-glazing. However, those requiring a quiet nights sleep should request the rooms on the highest floors at the interior of the hotel.

All rooms include air conditioning, a safe, a television with satellite, a telephone and a mini-bar.

Smoking is permitted only on the first floor of the hotel.

This is convenient for those flying in or out of Barcelona airport as direct trains run from the airport to Sants station. It is also useful for those interested in making day trips outside of the city. Trains leave from Sants station to destinations including Sitges, Girona and Tarragona. Those wishing to see the whole of Spain can also take trains from Sants station to destinations such as Madrid and San Sebastian.

Plaza Sants is approximately 10 minutes walk from Plaza Espanya. Plaza Espanya is a large square that is the home of Barcelona’s Palace. It is also the home of the Fira de Barcelona – one of Barcelona’s largest conference centres. This is a destination on a weekly basis for thousands of tourists to the city. The hotel’s location means that during major conference rooms will be difficult to come by – it is worth planning in advance.

Plaza Espanya

The nearest metro station to the hotel is Sants Estacio – based within the train station. This will ensure that the majority of Barcelona’s tourist attractions are in easy reach by metro.

How to Travel from the Airport to the Hotel:

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 – 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Estacio Sants in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs 7.70 euros for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for 2.80 euros. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from here and is situated behind the station.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza Espanya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. A single will cost 4.25 euros. From Plaza Espanya take the Green Line on the metro to Estacio Sants. The hotel is a 5 minute walk from here and is situated behind the station. Alternatively, if you have a lot of luggage, a taxi from Plaza Espanya would take 5 minutes and cost around 6 – 8 euros.
