AC Vilamari Hotel is located less than five minutes walk from the Fira de Barcelona – the city’s largest conference and convention centre. A majority of guests at the hotel are likely to be those attending events at the Fira. However, the hotel is also well located for tourists. Its close proximity to Gran Via Corts Catalanes, Plaza Universitat and the area of Raval ensure that there is lots on offer for those coming for pleasure rather than work.

The hotel itself has a slightly cold feel – however, its whites and greys and open spaces may appeal to those who enjoy a minimalist style. The lobby area is large, with a wooden front desk and a seating area with low coffee tables and beige chairs. It also provides a fitness centre, with a Turkish bath, which is an added bonus for those who wish to exercise whilst away.

If you have some time it is worth checking out Tapioles 53 on Calle Tapioles. This restaurant offers a menu that changes daily, homely surroundings and a chef that comes to your table to talk you through the menu.

The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the Ramblas. This is one of Barcelona’s most popular tourist destinations and is at the hub of Barcelona’s touristic action.

The nearest Metro station to the hotel is Poble Sec. This is five minutes walk from the hotel, ensuring that no areas of Barcelona will take too long to get to.

How to Travel from the Airport to the Hotel:

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 – 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs 7.70 euros for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for 2.80 euros. You then change at Passeig de Gracia onto the Yellow Metro Line to Urquinaona, from here you will change onto the Red Line and head to Rocafort. Your hotel is then 5 minutes walk from the metro.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is not in walking distance of the station. You can take a taxi from the train station if you have lots of luggage. This will take about 10 - 15 minutes and cost about 10 - 12 euros. Alternatively you can take the Red Line from Plaza de Catalunya to Rocafort. Your hotel is 5 minutes walk from the metro.
