The hotel itself has a slightly cold feel - however, its whites and greys and open spaces may appeal to those who enjoy a minimalist style. The lobby area is large, with a wooden front desk and a seating area with low coffee tables and beige chairs. It also provides a fitness centre, with a Turkish bath, which is an added bonus for those who wish to exercise whilst away.

The hotel is also located close to Paral.lel. This street runs between the areas of Poble Sec and Raval. These two areas are popular amongst locals for their interesting restaurants and bars. If you have some time it is worth checking out Tapioles 53 on Calle Tapioles. This restaurant offers a menu that changes daily, homely surroundings and a chef that comes to your table to talk you through the menu.
The hotel is a 15-minute walk from the Ramblas. This is one of Barcelona's most popular tourist destinations and is at the hub of Barcelona's touristic action.
The nearest Metro station to the hotel is Poble Sec. This is five minutes walk from the hotel, ensuring that no areas of Barcelona will take too long to get to.
The advanced booking transfers below are independent of the the public transport system. This means if there is a public transport strike these services will continue to operate as normal and you will not be affected by the strike action.
Minibus shared transfer (advanced reservation required)
A shared minibus transfer option is cheaper than the private transfer. You would need to make your way to designated meeting point at the airport.
Private transfer (advanced reservation required)
With a private transfer service the driver will be waiting for you at your arrivals gate. He will have a board or a sign with your name on it so that you can easily identify him. The driver will help you with your bags to the vehicle and then drive you to your hotel.
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around €25.00 - €30.00 depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gràcia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs €9.95 for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for €4.10 . You then change at Passeig de Gràcia onto the Yellow Metro Line to Urquinaona, from here you will change onto the Red Line and head to Rocafort. Your hotel is then 5 minutes walk from the metro.
Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaça de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is not in walking distance of the station. You can take a taxi from the train station if you have lots of luggage. This will take about 10 - 15 minutes and cost about €10.00 - €12.00. Alternatively you can take the Red Line from Plaça de Catalunya to Rocafort. Your hotel is 5 minutes walk from the metro.
AC Vilamarí Hotel is likely to prove popular with business people - it is located conveniently close to the Fira de Barcelona and has various meeting and conference rooms on its premises. It is also well positioned for tourists; however, some may wish to be closer to the Ramblas.
