The simple and basic Adagio hotel has a good location right in central Barcelona, within walking distance of many of the city’s main attractions and surrounded by amenities from bars and clubs to picturesque placas and shops. Due to its basic facilities and low price this hotel is probably best suited for those on a budget or backpackers.

Hotel Facilities

The reception will help you with parking in the near vicinity and if you need to book tours and trips.  There is wireless internet and also a safe at the reception for all your valuables.  The hotel offers a laundry service and a small lounge area with a TV.

Business Facilities

There are no business facilities in the Adagio Hotel Barcelona.

Rooms

The 38 rooms at the Adagio hotel are all plain and functional, with en-suite bathroom.  The rooms have heating and air-conditioning, (although we have had several reports that the air-conditioning was not working properly for some of our site visitors, therefore check before you book if this is important for you), a telephone and a TV with satellite.  The bathrooms have a hairdryer.  Calle Ferran, on which the hotel is located is a very busy street, so if your sleep is easily disturbed then request the rooms at the back of the hotel.

Hotel Location and Facilities

The hotel is located in the Gothic Quarter, right in the centre of the city, 2 minutes from Las Ramblas.  Calle Ferran is a bustling street day and night and is full of popular bars, Irish pubs, cafes and shops.  The beautiful palm tree-lined Placa Reial is also just moments away and is a centre point of Barcelona nightlife.  There is even a Starbucks just up from the hotel!  You can find a bank and a pharmacy along the same road, just 2 blocks up.  Calle Avinyo is one of Barcelona’s best and most diverse shopping streets, and it leads off Calle Ferran.  On Las Ramblas you will be able to find internet and newsagents.  The nearest metro stop, Liceu, is also located on Las Ramblas.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia, in about 25 mins and costs 2.80 Euros for a single ticket. You then have to change here for the Metro Liceu (Green Line, L3) which is two stops up. The hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the metro.

Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 4.25 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you need take the taking the Metro (Green Line, L3) to Liceu or if you don't mind a walk you have 15 mins to the hotel.

Adagio Hotel Barcelona is a basic, central hotel for those who want to get involved with Barcelona’s nightlife as well as being very close to all the cultural daytime activities the city has to offer. This hotel is probably best suited for backpackers on a budget rather than families or those looking for more facilities. Remember you generally pay for what you get!
