Apsis Atrium Palace Hotel Barcelona is located on one of Barcelona’s largest and most impressive roads – Gran Via Corts Catalanes. It is a classic style hotel with a beautiful stone façade and ornate balconies.

The hotel lobby area is large with no seating. It has a high atrium ceiling providing light to the room. There are marble floors and spiral staircases at each side of the front desk. An area to the left of the lobby is more comfortable and provides a lounge space. There is a television screening the news, soft red velvet couches and oil paintings of vintage cars hanging on the walls.

The hotel will appeal to families as it offers suites that can sleep up to four in a very central location.

Hotel Facilities:

There is a pool in the basement of the hotel approximately 10 metres in length by 3 metres in width. The pool is heated and is open all year round. It is open from 08:00 – 23:00. There is a gym in the hotel, with a sauna and a Jacuzzi. The fitness centre contains weights and a running machine. It is open the same hours as the pool.

There is a restaurant serving food throughout the day. Buffet breakfast costs 16 euros and is served from 07:15 – 10:30. All rooms include air conditioning, a hairdryer, a safe, a television with satellite, a telephone, a choice of pillows and a mini-bar.

Smoking is permitted on the fifth and sixth floors of the hotel. There are designated areas in the bar and restaurant where smoking is permitted.

It is the home of gems such as Altair – a large travel bookshop where seats and low lighting make it easy to while away the hours. Xarcuteria Valentin

A 2 minute walk from the hotel is the restaurant Xarcuteria Valentin. This restaurant has a classic and traditional style, with white tablecloths and walls lined in wine bottles. It offers the finest in charcuterie from its deli style counter – meats, cheeses, foie gras and salads. Its prices reflect the high quality of the produce served.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Passeig de Gracia. This is a street that is known for being one of the most popular shopping destinations. It is home of many department stores such as Burberry, Gucci and Prada. It also houses large flagship stores for chains such as Zara and Mango.

The hotel is a 5 minute walk from Plaza Catalunya. This is the square that sits at the top of the Ramblas. The Ramblas is a popular tourist destination. It is also where you will find many useful amenities, such as internet cafés, bureaus de change, supermarkets and pharmacies.

How to Travel from the Airport to the Hotel:

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 – 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs 7.70 euros for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for 2.80 euros. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Plaza Catalunya.
