Reservation Information For The Apsis Sant Angelo

Apsis Sant Angelo Hotel is located right next to the Parc de Joan Mirò. It is a standard three star hotel that is well located for those who require a close proximity to Plaza Espanya. The majority of the hotel's guests are people attending conferences at the Fira de Barcelona -one of Barcelona's largest convention centres. The hotel may be slightly out of the heart of the city centre for some people's tastes. However, places of interest in the local vicinity such as the Mirò Park and Barcelona Palace add to its appeal.

The hotel itself has a small lobby area with a classic style. It has wooden walls, except for one, which is a green marble. There is a small seating area with beige furniture and a wooden front desk. Hotel staff are friendly and helpful in answering questions.

Hotel Facilities:

There is no pool, gym or bar in the hotel. A buffet breakfast is available from 07:00 - 10:30. It costs €14.00 (plus tax) per person.

There is no room service available in the hotel. Pets are not allowed.

Short stay (day use) rooms are available subject to availability. They cost 50% of the normal room price.

Check-in time is at 15:00 and check-out time is at 12:00 noon.

There are a total of 50 rooms in the hotel, over 5 floors. 20 of the rooms are doubles, 17 have queen size beds and the rest are singles. There are 4 rooms that are large enough to fit an extra bed. This is free for children under 12 and is €20.00 - €25.00 for people over the age of 12.

All of the single rooms in the hotel are interior rooms. These will be the quietest rooms in the hotel. However, all of the exterior rooms have double-glazing and the road on which the hotel is situated is reasonably quiet.

All rooms include air-conditioning, television with satellite, hairdryer, mini-bar and safe.

There is no room service available.

There are 5 rooms in the hotel where smoking is permitted. The rest of the hotel is non-smoking.

Hotel Location and Facilities:

Parc de Joan Mirò

At the end of the street where the hotel is located is the Parc de Joan Mirò. This is a large city park, with a sandy floor and lots of palm trees. It also includes the famous 'Woman and Bird' sculpture and a building housing a small library. This is a modernist building with few windows and sand coloured walls.

The hotel is also a five minute walk from Plaza Espanya. This is home of Barcelona's Palace - the Palau Nacional. The Palace looks proudly down onto the square, a wide and elegant structure, with a central dome and large windows. The Palace houses the National Museum of Catalonian Art. Fira de Barcelona

Plaza Espanya is also home of the Fira de Barcelona. This is Barcelona's largest conference centre and hosts regular international conventions in many and varied fields of business and leisure. Guests of the hotel will be conveniently close to the centre.

Public transport transfer options

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around €25.00 - €30.00 depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs €9.25 for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for €3.60. You then change at Passeig de Gracia onto the Yellow Line metro and travel one stop to Urquinaona and then change onto the Red Line and travel to Rocafort. Your hotel is then 10 minutes walk from the metro.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is a little too far to walk from the station. You can take a taxi from the train station if you have lots of luggage. This will take about 5 minutes and cost around €6.00. Alternatively you can take the Red Line from Plaza de Catalunya to Rocafort where the hotel is just a short walk away. It should take around 10 minutes.
