Review
Atlantis Hotel Barcelona
Behind a small, and unassuming door on one of Barcelona’s good shopping streets lies the surprisingly bright and comfortable Atlantis Hotel Barcelona. The hotel has an excellent location for both shopping and cultural activities in the city and lies in El Raval, a very short walk away from Las Ramblas.
Hotel Facilities
The hotel has a cosy, white themed bar area, and a nearby area for reading. The hotel doesn’t have a restaurant but you are so central that some of Barcelona’s best-loved eateries are at your fingertips. However there is a small breakfast room where the varied buffet breakfast is served every morning.
Business Facilities
There is one meeting room which is well-presented and homely and has room for up to 16 people at the Atlantis Hotel Barcelona for meetings.
Rooms
The 50 rooms in the Atlantis hotel Barcelona have been decorated classically and have the feel of someone’s guest bedroom. There are 14 suites at your disposal. Each room features air-conditioning, a telephone, a minibar, a safe and a TV with 13 satellite channels. There is piped music and the en-suite bathrooms have a hairdryer. The rooms facing the front of the hotel will be noisy but the ones near the top of the hotel will also have the benefit of direct sunlight in the afternoon.
Hotel Location and Facilities
Calle Pelai, on which the hotel is situated, is a main shopping street and links Placa Catalunya to Placa Universitat, two of Barcelona’s main squares. Behind the hotel is El Raval which has some of the city’s best art galleries such as the MACBA and the CCCB, as well as being a great place for a stroll and a café con leche.
Closer to home, there is a pharmacy right opposite the Hotel Atlantis, and a cash point just up the road. You are well-located for food shopping either at Carrefour Express on Las Ramblas or El Corte Ingles which is on Placa Catalunya. You can also choose between metro stops at Universitat or Catalunya, not that you’ll need the metro being so central.
How to travel from the airport to the hotel
Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia, in about 25 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket. You then have a 7 min walk to the hotel.
Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Universitat square and costs 3.90 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Universitat square you have a 3 minute walk to the hotel.
