The Ramblas is also home to the world famous food market, La Boqueria. Also within 2-minutes walking distance of the hotel, this is definitely worth a visit to take in the sights, smells and maybe even the tastes. Its stalls offer great options for a picnic lunch. There are also some impressive and renowned tapas bars selling quality food using the ingredients from the market. Be warned that you may have to enjoy your high-class cuisine with your feet in smelly fish water or whilst being stared at by a pig’s head. This is a truly Spanish experience!
On the Ramblas, aside from all of the tourist attractions, it will also be possible to find many necessary amenities. These include banks, cash machines, internet cafés, pharmacies and a large supermarket.
The hotel Atlas is also located at the heart of Barcelona’s old town, in the Gothic quarter. This area is famous for its winding, narrow streets and old buildings. Next to the hotel are two of its most attractive little squares- Plaza del Pi and Plaza de Sant Josep. Also, within walking distance of the hotel is Calle Petritxol, a great spot for chocolate lovers. This small street is lined with various chocolate shops and cafés selling deliciously thick hot chocolate.
