Located in an up-market area of town, just a few steps from Passeig de Gracia is the Avenida Palace Hotel Barcelona, the hotel the Beatles stayed at during their only concert in Barcelona in 1965.

This hotel rightly has the word "palace" in its name for when entering the lobby you are greeted by the sight of marble, chandeliers, gold staircases, classically upholstered furniture and yet more marble. It's like a Russian millionaire's home it's so ornate and shiny!

There are 7 function rooms available. Although 3 can be opened up into one larger room. There is room for up to 500 people in the large Gran Salon which measures 350 metres squared. Audiovisual equipment is available to hire from the hotel. In the rooms there is already one analogue and one digital phone line for pc connections. They have adsl or isdn internet access and Wi-Fi.

In the lobby there is also a small business corner with a desk, stationary and a direct phone.

There are 151 rooms in the Avenida Palace hotel, unlike the public areas of the hotel the rooms are rather more sedate and simple, but still retain their original art deco feel. The rooms all feature an IDD telephone, a minibar, radio, satellite TV, personal temperature control, safe, hairdryer and music in the bathroom and soundproofed windows. The rooms at the top of the hotel will experience the sunlight for longer of the day, though most rooms get direct sunlight at some point in the day.

Passeig de Gracia is also where two of Gaudi's famous architectural masterpieces stand. The hotel is next to the cinema and the Passeig de Gracia metro station is right outside the hotel. There are many nearby cash points on Passeig de Gracia, which doesn't help with the temptation of so many high-class shops. Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas are less than a 10 minute walk away. On Placa Catalunya you will find Corte Ingles a comprehensive department store and supermarket, and FNAC which sells English papers and magazines.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia, in about 25 minutes and costs €3.60 for a single ticket. Your hotel is a short 1 minute walk from the station.
