Rooms
The rooms at the Banys Oriental Hotel are well-designed and very attractive with their monochrome décor. There are 43 rooms in total which are all equipped with ADSL internet access, TV, telephone line and bathroom. The rooms at the front of the hotel might be a bit noisy so request ones at the back if this affects you.
Hotel Location and Facilities
The Banys Oriental hotel is located on a small street in the trendy area of El Borne, Via Laietana, a large busy road separating the Gothic Quarter with El Born, is on one side and on the other you are greeted by the beautiful Church Santa Maria del Mar.
El Borne is also famous as being the home of the Picasso museum and many interesting boutique shops. On the street on which the hotel is located there are several good tapas bars, as well as one-off specialist shops selling coffee and tea. The metro stop Jaume 1 is a very short walk away, and you can walk to Las Ramblas in under 10 minutes. Near the metro stop you will find many banks and a pharmacy, restaurants and a good bakery.
How to travel from the airport to the hotel
Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia , in about 25 mins and costs 2.80 Euros for a single ticket. You then have to change for the Yellow line Metro for Jaume I and your hotel is 3 minutes walk from the metro stop.
Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 4.25 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you need to take the Green Line metro to Passeig de Gracia and from here change to the Yellow line and get off at Jaume 1. Your hotel is 3 minutes walk from the metro stop.
In a Nutshell
This Banys Oriental Hotel Barcelona offers stylish accommodation at a good price so it is no wonder that it is so popular. The hotel itself hasn’t got many facilities but the atmosphere and the location makes up for it. A great choice for any sort of tourist.
