The concept of an aparthotel means that all of the rooms in the hotel are 36 metres squared and include a small kitchen. The 'hotel' part of the name ensures that there is a front desk and a weekly free room cleaning service.
The hotel is located at the foot of Montjuïc - this large hill looks down over the city of Barcelona and is covered in ornate floral gardens and benches to sit and watch the world go by. The hotel is also situated a 5 - 10 minute walk from Plaza Espanya - the home of both the Fira Barcelona conference centre and Barcelona Palace.
There is a pool on the roof of the hotel. It is not heated and is open from 01 June - 30 September . During these months it is open from 09:00 - 22:00 . There is also a sauna and fitness centre on the roof. These are open all year round and are open from 09:00 - 22:00 .
There is no restaurant or bar in the hotel. Two vending machines are housed in a communal seating area on the ground floor.
Pets are not allowed in the hotel.

All of the rooms have double-glazed windows. Interior rooms are available for a particularly quiet night's sleep. However, the hotel is located on a quiet street.

Aparthotel Montjuïc, is located a 5 - 10 minute walk from Plaza Espanya. The large and traffic-filled square is popular amongst both tourists and business people. It is the home of Barcelona's Palace - sitting elegantly at the end of a large tree-lined avenue. Many tourists climb its wide stairs to enjoy views of the Plaza Espanya and of the city.
Plaza Espanya is also home to the Fira Barcelona. This convention centre is one of the largest in Europe. On a daily basis it brings business from all over the world to the city. During conference periods it is likely to be harder to book room, so it is worth planning in advance.
The aparthotel sits at the base of Montjuïc. A steep flight of stairs leads you up the hill. An enjoyable afternoon can be spent taking the trek to the top of the hill. Along the way you will pass treasures such as the Miró Museum and the Art Deco style Miramar hotel. At the top of Montjuïc there is a castle where you can walk around the grounds and take in views over looking the entire city.
The hotel is also a 5 - 10 minute walk from Espanya metro station. This will ensure that the majority of the city is within relatively easy reach.
The advanced booking transfers below are independent of the the public transport system. This means if there is a public transport strike these services will continue to operate as normal and you will not be affected by the strike action.
Minibus shared transfer (advanced reservation required)
A shared minibus transfer option is cheaper than the private transfer. You would need to make your way to designated meeting point at the airport.
Private transfer (advanced reservation required)
With a private transfer service the driver will be waiting for you at your arrivals gate. He will have a board or a sign with your name on it so that you can easily identify him. The driver will help you with your bags to the vehicle and then drive you to your hotel.
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around €25.00 - €30.00 .
Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Estacio Sants in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs €9.95 for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for €4.10 . From Estacio Sants take the Green Line to Espanya on the metro. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the metro station.
Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza Espanya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. A single will cost €5.90 . The hotel is a 10 minute walk from Plaza Espanya.
Aparthotel BCN Montjuïc offers surprisingly low prices for a relatively central location for tourists and impressive amenities. The rooms sleep up to 3 people, which could prove useful for friends or families travelling in groups. The hotel's location is slightly outside of what is considered to be Barcelona's city centre. However, those who don't mind doing a bit of walking will be rewarded with affordable prices.
