Review Century Park Hotel Barcelona

Century Park Hotel
Reservation Information For The Century Park Hotel

Century Park Hotel is located in the heart of Eixample. It is a simple hotel with friendly staff and affordable rates. It is located fifteen minutes walk from Rambla de Catalunya - a busy and leafy street that leads to Plaza Catalunya and the Ramblas. The hotel’s lobby area is small with a blue theme running throughout. From the lobby the next-door bar and café area is visible through a glass wall. A mirrored wall at the back of the lobby adds a feeling of space and light.

Those wishing to stay in a central Barcelona location may be disappointed by the energy required to reach central locations. However, the hotel’s proximity slightly outside of the centre allows for affordable prices. Families with young children may be particularly interested in the hotel as some rooms can fit up to four beds.

Hotel Facilities:

The hotel does not have a pool, fitness centre or spa. The hotel restaurant offers buffet breakfasts at 10 euros per person. It is served from 07:30 – 10:30 during the week and from 08:00 – 11:00 at weekends. After breakfast the area becomes a café space, where drinks are available 24 hours.

Room service is available during the breakfast hors and is free of charge.

Check-in time is at the convenience of customers (provided that a clean room is available) and check-out time is at 12:00. Rooms are available for day use when possible and are at the hotel’s discretion.

Small dogs are allowed to stay in the hotel at an extra cost of 20 – 25 euros per day.

Business Facilities:

There are no meeting rooms in the hotel. However, it is possible to rent the café area for private functions.

Wi-Fi is available on the ground floor of the hotel and is free of charge. There is one computer available with internet access. This is also free of charge.

Facilities for the Disabled:

There is one room that is suitable for disabled people. It has widened doors and a special bathroom.

There are lifts to all floors.

Rooms:

There are a total of 48 rooms in the hotel, over 7 floors. There are seven singles and 41 doubles. In some of the rooms it is possible to fit two extra beds. These beds are only suitable for under 12 years olds.

None of the rooms have balconies. All of the rooms have double-glazing, so noise pollution should not be too much of a problem. However, those hoping for a quiet nights sleep should request interior rooms.

All rooms contain air-conditioning, television, telephone and a mini-bar.

Smoking is permitted on two floors. The rest of the hotel is non-smoking.

Hotel Location and Facilities:

Century Park Hotel is located in the centre of Eixample. It is a one-minute walk from a large main road – Avenida Roma. Estacio Sants station sits at the top off this road – 15 minutes from the hotel. This is one of Barcelona’s major stations. It allows easy access to the main airport. It also makes day trips out of the city to places such as Sitges or Girona fairly simple.

Mercat del Ninot
Mercat del Ninot

A five-minute walk from the hotel, on Calle Mallorca, it is possible to find the large roofed market, Mercat del Ninot. This is worth a trip to buy ingredients for a picnic, some delicious holiday gifts or simply to take in the busting local atmosphere.

The hotel is a ten-minute walk from Gran Via Cortes Catalanes. This is another of Barcelona’s major roads. It provides its fair share of treats. These include the Escriba bakery, which is well known for its bespoke celebration cakes and its small and cosy café. Further down the street is Altair travel bookshop. Perhaps a strange destination for somebody who is already on holiday, however, it offers a stunning selection of coffee table books of world photography.

Plaza de Catalunya and the Ramblas is a fifteen-minute walk from the hotel. The Ramblas is popular amongst tourists for people watching and souvenir hunting. It is also a useful place to find necessary amenities such as internet cafés, banks, pharmacies, bureaus de change and supermarkets.

How to Travel from the Airport to the Hotel:

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 – 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Estacio Sants in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs 7.70 euros for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for 2.80 euros. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station. Alternatively if you have a lot of luggage a taxi would take 5 minutes and cost around 5 – 6 euros.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus ' to Gran Via Corts Catalanes - Urgell from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from here.
