Review Constanza Hotel, Barcelona
On entering Constanza Hotel, Barcelona I had thought it was a 4 star. It came as a pleasant and impressive surprise to find out that the hotel is a 2 star. It is in a central location at the heart of the affluent area of Eixample.
It has a lot more to offer than your average 2 star hotel – including a restaurant, discount rates for a nearby gym, free internet and suite rooms. The hotel lobby is large and long. Its walls are lined with modern and creative photographic prints. Cream leather couches line one wall and sit on top of luscious furry mocha coloured rugs. Low glass coffee tables offer international press and magazines. Low lighting provides a relaxing feel to the space.

The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the base of Passeig de Gracia. This large street is the pride of Barcelona. Its wide street is lined with designer shops and old buildings. It is the home of two of Gaudi’s most important buildings – Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. Casa Batlló is a colorful building with a mosaic roof in the shape of a dragon’s tail. La Pedrera is a larger building with sea-inspired details, such as a spiral staircase like the inside of a seashell and a wavy roof.
A 10 minute walk from the hotel on Calle Diputacion with Passeig de Gracia it is possible to find the restaurant Tapas, 24. The restaurant was opened by the owner of the famous Camerc 24 restaurant as a more relaxed alternative. It offers traditional Spanish style tapas with a twist.
