Cristal Palace Hotel Barcelona
The Cristal Palace Hotel Barcelona seems to be always busy, and I know of people who will not stay anywhere else when they come to Barcelona so they must be doing something right. Popular for tourists and business people this hotel is just off Passeig de Gracia, one of Barcelona’s most famous streets, and is bright, modern and has good facilities.
Hotel Facilities
Treno is the hotel’s restaurant that serves up international and local cuisine for all three meals. The set lunch menu will set you back about 17 euros. The front desk functions 24 hours a day and there is also a tour desk should you need any tourist information. There is a laundry service and a safe at reception. Baby-sitting can be organized by the hotel and children under 12 stay free. There is also parking and valet parking. The hotel has a business corner with internet. A range of artwork is displayed around the public areas of the hotel and is available to buy.
Business Facilities
The Salons Picasso, Miro and Dali are offered for all your events and business needs. The rooms are kitted out with audiovisual resources and have temperature control and natural light. The 3 rooms can be opened up to form one large room which has a capacity of 150 people. Otherwise the Picasso is the largest room with a capacity of 90. The hotel also has a business corner with a computer linked to the internet and a printer.
Rooms
The rooms at the Cristal Palace Hotel are decorated in a similar fashion to each other, with a patterned carpet and wooden headboard. Most have a balcony overlooking either Passeig de Gracia or Calle Diputacio, though Passeig de Gracia would be preferable in terms of the amount of sunlight you would get. Check in is at 13:00 and check out is at 12:00, rooms are fully equipped with modern amenities such as satellite TV, minibar and full bathroom. There is a non-smoking floor.
 Hotel Location and Facilities
The Cristal Palace hotel Barcelona has an undeniable good location which may in part explain its popularity. Just off the famous Passeig de Gracia, a luxury-lined street that is home to some of Gaudi´s work and is an excellent place to have coffee and watch the world go by. Being here means that you are surrounded by good restaurants and cafes. There is a bank almost every 2 blocks so you can carry on your shopping unhindered, and a pharmacy at number 26. The metro stop is Passeig de Gracia which is 3 mins away. Placa Catalunya and Las Ramblas are a 10 minute walk away.
How to travel from the airport to the hotel
Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station, in about 25 mins and costs 2.80 Euros for a single ticket. Your hotel is a 3 minute walk from the station.
Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 4.25 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. Once at Catalunya station you have a 5 minute walk to the hotel.
