Curious Hotel is a one star hotel that offers basic prices, but with a certain style. It is located on a street that runs from the Ramblas into the heart of Raval. On entering its lobby area it is clear that the hotel have ideas above their station. There are black leather couches in a small seating area with thick purple rugs. The walls have been painted grey and purple and one wall is covered with a large black and white photo of the Ramblas. For a hotel with only one star there is a sense that the hotel have a lot of respect for their customers and have aimed to add some style and character to an affordable hotel.
The amenities in the hotel are also generous, with free buffet breakfast, Wi-Fi and computers with internet access. It is well located for travellers who wish to be at the heart of Barcelona’s tourist centre, whilst still getting a genuine sense of local Spain. The hotel is a 2-minute walk from the Ramblas. However, Calle Carmen is a street that is popular amongst locals for its small bars and restaurants and its route into the centre of a community area.

There is no pool or gym in the hotel. There is no restaurant. However, there is buffet breakfast available that is free of charge for all customers. There is also a bar in the hotel.

Curious Hotel is based in the heart of the Raval area. In only two minutes it is possible to reach the Ramblas, where there are many sources of entertainment for tourists, including street artists, tourist’s shops and restaurants. The hotel is also very close to the back of the Boqueria food market. This is a favourite and a strong recommendation of chefs all around the world. It is renowned for its wide variety of produce, both international and local. It is worth a visit just to experience the overwhelming feast for the senses.
On Calle Carme itself there are a great number of choices of places to eat and drink. Carmelitas is a classy establishment with affordable prices. It is a large restaurant that has a mellow atmosphere, with cream floors and touches of maroon. It is known for its set menu (‘Menu del Dia’), which is good value and at a high standard.

The bar next door, Dos Trece, is a favourite amongst locals and is known for its cosy, Moroccan style basement area. The area is popular for its DJ sessions and monthly flea markets.
The hotel’s close proximity to the Ramblas ensures that you will not be far from general amenities such as banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, internet cafés and bureaus de change.
How to Travel from the Airport to the Hotel:
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 – 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs 7.70 euros for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for 2.80 euros. You then change at Passeig de Gracia onto the Green Line metro and travel two stops to Liceu. Your hotel is then less than a 10 minute walk from the metro. Alternatively you can take a taxi from Passeig de Gracia which will take 10 minutes and cost around 8 - 10 euros.
Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is 10 - 15 minutes walk from Plaza de Catalunya.
