Review Denit Hotel Barcelona
Denit Hotel Barcelona is located in the Barri Gotic area only a few minutes walk from the famous La Rambla. It is a distinctive hotel with a modern touch - its exterior consists of a large window, similar to a shop front, sporting a neon sign that would not look out of place on a stylish bar or a trendy clothes shop. Its lobby is bright and white. The front desk displays a back-drop of shelves of jars filled with various colourful tea and coffee sachets, creating an interesting addition to a generally stark area.
The hotel’s tag-line is ‘night and breakfast’ and they appear to be taking a novel approach to how they offer hotel accommodation. The hotel amenities are minimal, with no room service, pool, gym or bar. However, a continental buffet breakfast is included in the price of the room.
One of the hotel’s most attractive features is its relationship to Hotel Majestic- one of Barcelona’s most well-known 5 Star Luxury hotels. At the time of writing customers of Denit Hotel are offered a free pass to use all of the spa and pool facilities at this luxury hotel. Located, at the top of the Ramblas, at the centre of much of Barcelona’s tourist and shopping opportunities, it would be a shame not to find time to relax and take a snoop around hotel Majestic that is popular with the rich and famous of Spain.
Hotel Facilities:
Denit Hotel Barcelona does not have its own pool or gym. However, customers of the hotel are currently provided with a pass to use the spa and pool at Hotel Majestic. Please see our review of Hotel Majestic. The hotel is a ten-minute walk from Denit Hotel, across Plaza de Catalunya and up Passeig de Gracia. Hotel Majestic’s spa area includes a Jacuzzi and Sauna.
There is also no bar or restaurant in the hotel. However, the hotel offers a free continental buffet breakfast. This is served from 07:30 - 11:00.
Business Facilities:
There are no meeting or conference rooms in the hotel. However, there is free Wi-Fi in the reception area. ADSL connections are available in all rooms.
Facilities for the Disabled:
There is one room that has been adapted for wheelchair use. It has widened doors and a special shower fitted. There are lifts to all floors.
Rooms:
There are a total of 36 rooms in the hotel across 5 floors. All rooms are either single or double or ‘business’. The business rooms have space for an additional bed at a cost of an extra 30 euros for adults. Children under the age of 12 years are given the use of the extra bed free of charge. The ‘Economy’ rooms provide either single or princess size beds. The ‘Economy Plus’ rooms provide a double bed.
The windows are double-glazed and the hotel is located on a quiet and pedestrianised street. However, those who are hoping for a very peaceful night’s sleep should request an interior room.
The rooms on the fourth and fifth floors of the hotel are smoking. The rest of the building is non-smoking.
Check-in time at the hotel is 14:00 and check-out time is 12:00.
There is no option for short stay rooms in the hotel.

| Plaza de Catalunya |
Denit Hotel Barcelona is located on a quiet street just off the top of the Ramblas, very close to Plaza de Catalunya. Plaza de Catalunya is one of Barcelona’s largest and most well known squares. It is the home of Barcelona’s main Tourist Information office. It is also the gateway to areas such as Eixample – renowned for its designer shops and expensive restaurants and Gracia – a more bohemian area, popular for its numerous terraces and independent bars.

| H&M |
Denit Hotel is located within 1-minute´s walk of Portal del Angel, where much of Barcelona’s shopping takes place. On this street there are large outlets of chain shops such as Zara, Mango and H&M.
For those looking to hit the town for a night out, El Raval is within 10 minutes walk and offers a welcome alternative to the Irish bars and tourist hot spots. It is popular amongst a younger Spanish crowd for its small and interesting bars. Betty Fords on Calle Joaquin Costa has the feel of a smoky twenties speak-easy and offers the best America-style burgers in town. Ressolis on Calle Reira Baixa has a beautiful art deco style façade and is a great choice for a bottle of wine and some typically Spanish tapas.
The hotel is less than a 5-minute walk from the top of the Ramblas. Here, aside from all of the tourist attractions, it will also be possible to find many necessary amenities. These include banks, cash machines, internet cafés, pharmacies and a large supermarket.
How to Travel from the Airport to the Hotel:
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 – 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and
will take you to Passeig de Gracia in 25 minutes. You can either use the
T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs 7.70 euros for 10
separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single
fare ticket for 2.80 euros. You then change at Passeig de Gracia onto
the Green Line metro and travel one stop to Catalunya. Your hotel is
then 5 minutes walk from the metro.
Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus ' to Plaza de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10- 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Plaza de Catalunya.
