Review Derby Hotel Barcelona
The impressive and imposing Derby Hotel Barcelona is situated in the Les Corts area, one of Barcelona’s main financial districts, and caters for travelers who like a bit of luxury on their business weekend. The Derby Hotel shines with polish and is incredibly quiet. The hotel has the atmosphere of a museum or library and you feel like you shouldn’t touch anything especially when there are so many staff around. The museum atmosphere is further emphasised in the lobby where there are paintings by the contemporary artist Guinovart.
Hotel Facilities
The Derby Hotel Barcelona shares its dining facilities with the nearby Gran Derby hotel which is part of the same exclusive chain. There is the Times Café which serves a huge buffet breakfast and has Miro Lithographs on the walls. Or you could eat at the Epson which has food fresh from the market and a long bar lining one of the walls. The hotel has car parking. The Derby Hotel Barcelona also allows dogs. The Hotel will also lend you its courtesy smart car for getting around the city more easily. Like the Gran Derby you will get free access to the nearby Barcelona Egyptian Museum and you can also freely use the small swimming pool and terrace garden of the Gran Derby across the road. The hotel also has a laundry and ironing service.

In a Nutshell
I think the Hotel Derby Barcelona is best suited to business people as it really doesn’t have the right atmosphere for families or tourists. It is a lovely hotel, very smart and sophisticated but you will have to be wearing a suit to feel at home!
