Europark Hotel, Barcelona is located just under 10 minutes walk from Passeig de Gracia, in the heart of Eixample. The area of Eixample is often reputed as having a natural and understated style – Europark Hotel is in keeping with its surroundings.

From the exterior the hotel is distinctively modern. It houses relatively large balconies that are part covered by black wooden slatted blinds. The hotel’s lobby has a black and cream theme running throughout. Low wall lights and minimalist furniture give a slightly art deco feel to the space. There are black leather couches at the edge of the lobby and four low hanging lampshades are a distinctive feature at the front desk.

The hotel is located a sufficient distance from Passeig de Gracia to allow an air of tranquility. However, it is in 10 – 15 minutes walking distance of many of the city’s most central locations.

Hotel Facilities:

There is no gym in the hotel. There is a restaurant on the hotel roof that is only opened in the summer months. It is unheated and is opened at the hotel’s discretion, when they feel that the weather is sufficiently warm. During the summer months it is open from 08:00 – 20:00.

Buffet breakfast is served for 13 euros. It is served from 07:00 – 10:30. There is a bar located on the first floor of the hotel. It is open from 07:00 – 10:30.

No pets are allowed in the hotel.

Rooms:

There are a total of 105 rooms in the hotel over 8 and 10 floors (the hotel is split between two buildings). The rooms available are all doubles. On the ninth floor superior rooms are available with a terrace. On the tenth floor of the other building there are two junior suite rooms.

All rooms have double-glazing. However, those requiring a quiet nights sleep should request the rooms on the highest floors at the interior of the hotel.

All rooms include air conditioning, a safe, a television with satellite, a telephone and a mini-bar.

Smoking is permitted on the sixth and seventh floors of the hotel.

It is the home of many designer flagship stores such as Burberry, Gucci and Prada. It is also the home of two Gaudi buildings – Casa Batlló and La Pedrera.

A 5 minute walk from the hotel and on the same street is the roofed market ‘La Concepció’. This market houses a supermarket, but also a farmers style food market. This will provide great opportunities to buy Spanish food products. It may also prove a perfect place to buy your picnic lunch.

Not only is it a high-class delicatessen with a Barcelona-wide reputation, it also has a small and cosy room at the back of its buildings where a tapas tasting menu is on offer. How to Travel from the Airport to the Hotel:

Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 – 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs 7.70 euros for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for 2.80 euros. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the station. Alternatively, if you have a lot of luggage, a taxi would take 2 minutes and cost 5 – 6 euros.

Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. A single will cost 4.25 euros. From Plaza Catalunya take the metro to Passeig de Gracia on the Purple Line and change onto the Yellow Line taking one more stop to Girona metro stop. From the metro station the hotel is a 2 minute walk.
