The grand looking H10 Montcada Hotel Barcelona has a superb location just opposite the Gothic Cathedral and very close to the fashionable area of El Borne with its beautiful church, little cafes and the Picasso museum.  This hotel is located on Via Laietana which also runs straight down to the marina and beach.

Hotel Facilities

The green, gold and black lobby greets you as you walk in the door.  In the lobby there is a cigarette machine, international papers and a small bar/ café where you can sit and relax.  The Montcada has a restaurant which specializes in Mediterranean cuisine and has the décor to match.  At the top of the hotel there is a roof terrace with spectacular views over the city.  On the same floor there is also a Jacuzzi and a small gym. 


Business Facilities

There is one meeting room in the hotel.  It is called the Laietana and can hold from 10 to 40 people depending on layout.  The room is fully equipped with audiovisual resources and any other service needed can be provided by the hotel.


Rooms

Guests get a choice of room, floor, type of bed and location.  There are, within the 87 rooms, rooms for non-smokers and for the disabled.  All rooms feature a personal alarm clock, interactive TV with satellite, pay per view and Canal +.  There is internet connection and a direct telephone line, a minibar, safe and air-conditioning/ heating.  The rooms facing out the front of the hotel get sunlight in the afternoons but are also the noisiest as Via Laietana is a busy road.


Hotel Location and Facilities

Area around H10 Hotel Montcada Hotel BarcelonaThe H10 Montcada Hotel Barcelona has a great location for amenities and sight-seeing.  Opposite the hotel is a bank and currency exchange.  The metro stop Jaume 1 is in the little Placa opposite the hotel, which also has some cafes and an enticing bakery.

Calle Ferran leads off this placa and goes straight down to Area around the Hotel Montcada Barcelona . View from the Hotel Las Ramblas, passing many shops, cafes and pharmacies on the way.  Or in the opposite direction you can go down Calle Argenteria and you will find yourself in the heart of El Borne which has medieval streets and the Picasso Museum.  The Barcelona Cathedral and the Gothic Quarter is also just opposite the hotel and the beach is a 15 minute walk away.


How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station in about 25 mins and costs 2.80 Euros for a single ticket. You then have to change at Passeig de Gracia the Yellow line and get off at Jaume I and your hotel is 1 minute walk from the metro stop.

Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 4.25 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you need to change for the Green line Metro to Passeig de Gracia and then change for the Yellow line and get off at Jaume I and your hotel is 1 minute walk from the metro stop.
