HCC St Moritz Hotel, Barcelona is located in the heart of Eixample - up town Barcelona. The area is known as one of Barcelona's most affluent and glamorous. The hotel is located less then 5 minutes walk from Passeig de Gracia, a wide and picturesque street that is reminiscent of Paris' Champs Élysée.

The hotel's exterior is relatively plain, but has the added luster of a doorman in top hat and coat tails. A wide marble staircase flanked by figures of lions heads to the lobby area. The lobby is large with grey marble floors. A seating area to the right is not immediately apparent on entering the building and sits at the top of a small flight of stairs. It contains patterned green carpets and comfy seating. Decorations such as large ornate vases and Grecian figures are dotted around the room.

Hotel Facilities:

There is no pool or gym in the hotel. There is a restaurant. Buffet breakfast is served for €20.00 (plus tax). It is served from 7:00 - 11:00. Lunch is served from 13:00 - 16:00 and a set menu ('Menu del Dia') of three courses plus drink and bread is available for €26.00. Dinner is the same set menu and is served from 20:00 - 22:30.

There is a bar located just off the lobby area of the hotel. It is open from 11:00 - 01:00. Room service is available 24 hours.

No pets are allowed in the hotel.

Short Stay rooms are available on request. They are usually charged at around 50 - 60% of the full room price.

There are four meeting rooms available in the hotel. The rooms are 27 metres squared, 66 metres squared, 65 metres squared and the last is 131 metres squared.

There are three rooms available for wheelchair users. They have widened doors and adapted bathrooms. There are lifts to all floors.

All rooms have double-glazing. However, those requiring a quiet nights sleep should request the rooms on the highest floors at the interior of the hotel. There are no balconies and terraces with any of the rooms.

All rooms include air conditioning, a safe, a television with satellite, a telephone and a mini-bar.

Smoking is permitted on the first floor of the hotel.

Plaza Catalunya sits at the top of the Ramblas - Barcelona's best-known tourist street. The Ramblas is popular for its souvenir shops and street entertainers. It is also a useful spot to find amenities such as supermarkets, bureaus de change, pharmacies and cash machines.

Passeig de Gracia itself is also one of Barcelona's most famous streets. It is wide and lined with grand old buildings, including two Gaudi buildings - Casa Batlló and La Pedrera. La Pedrera is located on the same side of the street as the hotel, a 5 minute walk up Passeig de Gracia. It is a large building sitting on a street corner. It is inspired by the sea and has a roof that is open to the public offering 360 degree views of the city.

If you are looking for somewhere different to enjoy a lunch or dinner it may be worth a visit to Tapas, 24. It is located just off Passeig de Gracia, on the corner with Calle Diputacion. It is always jam packed with both locals and tourists, who come to enjoy the imaginative tapas on offer. It offers very classic Spanish tapas, such as Patatas Bravas and calamari but with its own special twists.
