It is renowned for being a place to people watch, shop for souvenirs or sit on one of its many terraces. However, be warned, eating or drinking on the Ramblas will be more expensive than offerings in other, less touristy areas. The hotel is located right next to Rambla de Catalunya. This is a charming and leafy street that is dotted with cafés, bakeries and restaurants. There is a Taller de Tapas on Rambla de Catalunya. This is a tapas chain that is known for its high standard of food and service. It perhaps makes the tapas experience more accessible for tourists than in other, more local bars. However, it does not sacrifice on authenticity - offering the best in Catalan cuisine.
Right opposite the hotel it is possible to find Colmado Quilez. This is a large deli-style shop. It is worth a visit for its shop windows alone - they are very traditional in style and display the many luxury items available inside. The store is renowned for its knowledgeable staff that can provide all of the necessary details as to the cheeses, meats, alcohols and dried goods that are on offer. A great place to find some gifts to bring back for friends and family.
