|Reservation information for the Hesperia del Port Hotel|
The lobby area is modern but warm. There are red leather couches that sit against a backdrop of brown and white striped walls, adding a quirky charm to modern surroundings. The area where breakfast is served can be easily viewed from the front desk - it contains rows of tables for two with white plastic chairs in a nicely lit room.
The hotel's location, in-between the port and Plaza Espanya makes it particularly attractive for those wishing to be by the sea. It also will appeal to those on cruises who need somewhere to stay during a Barcelona stopover. Its close proximity to Plaza Espanya also places it within ten-minutes walk of the Fira de Barcelona - a conference centre where many international gatherings take place.
There is no pool or gym in the hotel. There is an area to the side of the lobby serving Buffet breakfast. It is known as the 'Self-service' zone. There is no bar in the hotel.
Room service is not available. There are pet rooms available if you want to bring your pet.
There are no meeting or conference rooms in the hotel. However, there is free Wi-Fi for all customers throughout the hotel.
The hotel contains one room with disabled access. It has widened doors and a special shower. There are lifts to all floors.
There are a total of 48 rooms in the hotel, over 7 floors. Most rooms in the hotel are either singles or doubles. However, there are some rooms that are suitable for three people.
The rooms face either Avinguda de Paral.lel - a large main road with lots of traffic. Or the slightly quieter Calle Madrona. Those hoping for quiet rooms should request those at the interior. However, all of the rooms do offer double-glazed windows.
Each room offers air conditioning, a television with satellite, a safe and a mini-bar.
Hesperia del Port Hotel is located directly on Avenida de Paral.lel. This is one of Barcelona's largest roads, running through the centre of Raval and linking the port to Montjuïc and Plaza Espanya. The road itself, though not particularly pretty, has its fair share of places of interest. For example, the Apolo Theatre is home to some of Barcelona's largest productions.

Apolo nightclub is also based on Paral.lel. This is one of the city centre's largest clubs and is popular with locals as well as tourists. It is a popular concert venue and also plays host to the Nitsa clubnights at the weekend - well known for bringing in large name international DJs.
Just off Paral.lel there lurks a little-known gem of a restaurant - Tapioles 53, on Calle Tapioles. This is worth a visit if you are looking to splash out on somewhere a little bit different. It is a small space, seating approximately 30 - 40 people, where booking is essential. The interior is decorated to feel as though you are in the owner's kitchen. There are chunky wooden tables, mismatching chairs and low lighting. The chef cooks everything fresh in a small kitchen, with a hatch that looks out into the dining area. Customers are introduced to the chef when he comes to the table to talk you through the limited menu options for the day - all produced using the best of the produce found at the Boqueria food market that day. This is an intimate and interesting experience.
The hotel also backs onto the area or Raval, which is popular amongst young locals for its trendy shops and bars. Pepino on Nou de la Rambla is a popular new bar selling cocktails and programming Barcelona's up and coming new DJs.
Avenida Paral.lel has many of the functional amenities that you may require during your trip - banks, pharmacies, internet cafés and supermarkets.
