I was most impressed with this beautiful little hotel. Hotel Amister Barcelona is housed inside a refurbished classical building on a corner on Avenida Roma.

The road it is on isn’t the prettiest but the hotel is on the edge of one of Barcelona’s prettiest areas, Eixample, and the interior of the hotel will do wonders for a relaxed and comfortable state of mind. It really is beautiful and modern and so well thought-out, from the furniture to the lighting.

Hotel Facilities

The Hotel Amister Barcelona has an in house restaurant called Mezzanine, and there is also a lovely funky-looking lobby bar where you can sample a delicious range of cocktails. This area also has Wi-Fi. There is no pool but there is a solarium if you want to top up your tan. The hotel uses its walls to exhibit colorful, contemporary work from Spanish artists. Also, children under the age of four get to stay free. The hotel also has an ironing and laundry service.

Business Facilities

The Hotel Amister offers 3 rooms for any occasion. The rooms can hold from 10 to 50 people and are equipped with the latest technology (Wi-Fi, adsl). 2 have good natural light and all 3 have access for the disabled. The largest room is 80 metres squared and all can be changed by means of partition walls.

Rooms

There are 52 rooms in the Amister Hotel Barcelona. There are rooms for non-smokers and for the disabled, and also there are some joined by an inter-connecting door. All rooms are fitted with air-conditioning, a safety box, Satellite TV, internet connection and desk. They have been designed in a sparse and modern way but are classy and comfortable. The Avenida Roma is not too busy, and the rooms are also soundproofed. There is also a minibar in each room, and you get a paper everyday.

The hotel Amister Barcelona has one suite and several privilege rooms which have a small lounge area with sofa.

Hotel Amister Barcelona Location and Facilities

The area of Eixample is a beautiful place for a wander, the streets are leafy and the buildings are historically interesting and stunning. The nearby street of Valencia is a 2 minute walk and has a good range of facilities from supermarkets to bars and clothes shops. Close by there is a bank just on the next corner if you turn left out of the hotel, opposite that there is a snack bar and Pizza Hut if you feel the urge. The metro stop Sants Estacio is a 10 minute walk away and from there you can get into the centre of Barcelona in 10 minutes. Sants station is also one of Barcelona’s main stations and has direct trains to the airport and to places of interest outside Barcelona. Also a short metro ride, or a longish walk away is Montjuic and Placa Espanya.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Barcelona Sants (Estacio de Sants) , in about 25 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket. From here you have a 10 minute walk to the hotel.

Via Bus You could take the Aerobus cost 4.05 Euros from the Airport and get off at Placa Espanya from here catch the green line metro to Barcelona Sants (Estacio de Sants). From here the hotel is about 10 mins walk from the station.
