Hotel Auto Hogar Barcelona
The Hotel Auto Hogar Barcelona is an economical no-frills hotel, well located near the centre of the city. Welcoming, clean, functional - all you expect and more from a 2 star hotel.
Hotel Facilities
The reception area of this friendly hotel is full of squashy, brown leather sofa scattered with papers for you to browse. There is a door off the lobby leading to a diner-style café where breakfast is served in the morning. The hotel has a restaurant called Sidreria which specializes in Basque cuisine. There is also parking and a laundry service available.
Rooms
The rooms are spacious and sparse but comfortable. The rooms at the front of the hotel have direct sunlight for most of the morning. There are 170 rooms in all, triples are also available. Rooms have a telephone, TV and a safe box. The rooms at the front of the hotel may experience more noise as Parallel is one of Barcelona’s main roads.
 Hotel Location and Facilities
The Hotel Auto Hogar has a very good location, just 10 minutes walk to Las Ramblas and to Placa Espanya and Montjuic with it’s beautiful Palau Nacional and Magic Fountain. Parallel is also a busy road scattered with cafes, restaurants and other amenities. Just opposite the hotel is a metro stop Parallel, a cash point,  an arcade and a post box!
The hotel is a short walk away from the Sant Antoni market which is mainly a fresh food market and is wonderful to stroll around. The road leading up to the market, Ronda Sant Pau is home to many other cafes as well as some newsagents and a couple of pharmacies.
The hotel is also good for business travelers as it is near one of Barcelona’s business districts with the Palace of Congressors and the Fira Barcelona event halls.
How to travel from the airport to the hotel
Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station, in about 25 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket. You then have to change at Passeig de Gracia for the Green Line  Metro to Paral-lel and your hotel is 1 minute walk from the metro stop.
Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Placa Catalunya and costs 3.90 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you then have to catch the Green Line Metro to Paral-lel and your hotel is 1 minute walk from the metro stop.
