This simple but functional hotel benefits from a superb location right in the centre of Barcelona.  The hotel is in the Gothic Quarter on a busy street in between the famous Las Ramblas and Avenida Portal de L´Angel which is one of Barcelona’s main shopping streets.

Hotel Facilities

The Cortes hotel has a small TV room at the back of the reception and a dining room where guests are served breakfast.  There are also 3 restaurants attached to the hotel: the Cortes, Moderno and Ingles.  Also in the reception area is a telephone booth and a soda machine.

Business Facilities

The Cortes Hotel has no business facilities.

Rooms

The 46 rooms are simple and comfortable.  The ones facing out onto the street at the front of the hotel will be noisier at night.  The rooms are equipped with a direct phone line, a colour TV, a bathroom with shower and air-conditioning/ heating.

Hotel Location and Facilities

The narrow road on which the hotel is situated is full of shops, cafes and restaurants.  There is also a pharmacy and a bank just 1 block down.  Las Ramblas is at the end of the road and on the other side is shopping heaven. 

The Cortes hotel is very central and within walking distance of many of Barcelona’s main attractions including the Gothic Cathedral which is 5 minutes away, and El Raval which is the area on the opposite side of Las Ramblas. 

If you need a supermarket you are close to both Carrefour Express which is on Las Ramblas just opposite and El Corte Ingles which is on Placa Catalunya and Avenida Portal de L´Angel and is a huge department store.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station, in about 25 mins and costs 2.80 Euros for a single ticket. The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the metro stop.

Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 4.25 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you have a 3 mins to the hotel.

In a Nutshell

The Hotel Cortes Barcelona is a relatively cheap and cheerful hotel right in the heart of Barcelona.  Great, though potentially noisy location makes it good for a weekend stay.
