I don't think you can fail to be impressed when you walk into the Silken Hotel Diagonal Barcelona. Such is the tranquil atmosphere and the beautifully thought out design elements which work together to make a streamlined, contemporary hotel. The hotel is in the heart of one of Barcelona's important business districts and next to the un-missable gherkin-shaped Agbar Tower.

The first thing you will see as you walk into hotel Diagonal is the neon-bright Bombay Sapphire display in the hotel lobby bar. Then to your left is a lounge area complete with computer and printer.
Follow the snaking reception and you will find another lounge area furnished with 60s pod chairs and other design classics. The hotel's restaurant which serves international, Catalan and Basque specialties, is at the end along with the Tecla Café. The swimming pool can be found on the roof terrace which has views over to the Agbar Tower next door and all the way to the Sagrada Familia and beyond. There is also a small snack bar next to the pool.
The hotel has a car park with 90 spaces open 24 hours a day.

The hotel Diagonal is not located in the most picturesque area. It is a business district and fairly modern.
The stunning Agbar tower is next door and across the road is the Glories Tan Shopping complex which has a variety of restaurants 
and cafes, shops, a cinema and a huge Carrefour supermarket.
You can also find cash machines and pharmacies within the complex.
The metro stop Glories is 5 minutes away and will take you into the centre of town in 3 stops.
Also in the area is the Sagrada familia, and even closer is the huge market of Les Encants which is a fascinating place to wander round.

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around €25.00 - €30.00 depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia in about 25 minutes and costs €3.60 for a single ticket. You then have to change here for the Purple line 
Metro to Encants you have a 10 minutes walk to your hotel.
Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs €5.30. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you need to follow the instructions above for taking the metro.
