It is a pleasure to walk off the busy street into the heavily chandeliered, art-deco feeling lobby of the Hotel Gotico Barcelona.  Located in central Barcelona, in the Gothic Quarter, the hotel was last refurbished in 1999 and offers comfortable accommodation for all types of visitor to Barcelona.

Hotel Facilities

In the lobby area there is café/ bar which leads you onto the dining room which has an amazing barreled stone ceiling and is where breakfast is served.  The lounge area is relaxing and offers you a choice of international papers.  There is a cigarette machine. Also instead of sweets on the reception desk there are apples.  The hotel Gotico has access for the disabled and there is parking near the hotel.

Dogs are allowed and there is even a small sun terrace should you be lucky enough to visit Barcelona in the summer.

Business Facilities

The Hotel Gotico doesn’t have any business facilities

Rooms

The 78 rooms have been soundproofed although if you are easily disturbed by noise I would still request a room at the back of the hotel.  Some rooms have a balcony which is great for people-watching.  The rooms all feature air-conditioning and heating.  They have a small TV with a parabolic aerial, a safe and a minibar, and the en-suite bathrooms have a hairdryer.

Area around hotel GoticoHotel Location and Facilities

The hotel Gotico location is very central, just minutes walk away from the heart of the Gothic Quarter and the Cathedral.  The area of El Borne which is home to the Picasso museum is also very close, and you could walk through the impressive Placa Sant Jaume to Las Ramblas in under 10 minutes.

There is a pharmacy next door to the Hotel Gotico Barcelona and just up in Place de L´Angel there is a bank, a bakery and several nice cafes.  This is also where you will find the metro stop Jaume 1 which is one stop away from Barceloneta and its beaches.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia, in about 25 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket. You then have to change at Passeig de Gracia for the Yellow Line metroMetro to Jaume I and your hotel is 3 minute walk from the metro stop.

Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 3.90 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you need to take the Green Line metroMetro to Passeig de Gracia and then change again for the Yellow line for Jaume I and your hotel is 3 minute walk from the metro stop.
