The Hotel Jardi Barcelona is a basic, no-frills hotel in the centre of town, great for backpackers and those who just want a bed to sleep on and aren’t fussed about facilities.

The hotel was fully booked when I went, and looks over a pretty square.

Hotel Facilities

The hotel Jardi is very basic and has just a small and simple dining area where you have your continental breakfast in the morning.

Business Facilities

The hotel Jardi has no business facilities.

Rooms

The big bonus of the hotel Jardi Barcelona is its location standing over a beautiful little placa with a large church opposite . There are several standards of room available. The interior rooms do not face out onto the square. The standard exterior rooms have a view out onto the square and a few have a small balcony. Then there are the superior exterior rooms which look over the square and have either their own little balcony or terrace.

Hotel Location and Facilities

The hotel Jardi is located in a quiet little placa in the middle of the gothic quarter. La Rambla is just a 5 minute walk away though you wouldn’t really know it because the area is so quiet in comparison.

There is a cash machine right opposite the hotel and a couple of good tapas restaurants just across the square.

View from a room in the Hotel Jardi over lookig a small square If you need a pharmacy then head onto Las Ramblas, where you will also find La Boqueria market which is without a doubt the best place to buy your food and snacks. Also in the Placa, just below the hotel, there is an art market every Sunday. The collection of Catalan artists who display their work every week make a great way to idle away some time.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station, in about 25 mins and costs 2.60 Euros for a single ticket. You then have to change here for the Green Line Metro to Liceu. Your hotel is a short 5 minute walk from the metro.

Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 3.90 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes.
