Where is Hotel Melia Barcelona?

The Hotel Melia Barcelona is in the north western most section of Eixample near Les Corts. Although this hotel is in Barcelona city centre it is approximately 40 minutes walk from Placa de Catalunya (Catalunya is in the very heart of the city center) The hotel is therefore not as conveniently situated for sight seeing as the other 5 star hotels we have reviewed.

The hotel Melia is however only 10 minutes walk away from Hospital Clinic Metro underground stop on the Blue Line, L5. (Click here to see our Barcelona metro map) The metro will take you to practically all the important sights in Barcelona.

Sights of interest near the Hotel Melia Barcelona

The other main sight of interest is Palau Reial de Pedralbes which houses the Museu de Ceramica and a collection of famous ceramics, tiles and porcelains including works by Picasso and Miró.

Apart from these two sights you have a good 20 minute walk to any other sights of interest. Alternatively you can use the metro to visit other parts of Barcelona.

The Melia hotel is close to Diagonal (only 10 mins walk) which is on the 5 KM shopping line. Diagonal is home to some of the best shops in Barcelona (along with Passeig de Gracia)

Summary of the Hotel Melia Barcelona

The hotel Melia is a popular 5 star hotel in Barcelona. Its location for site seeing is probably not as convenient as for the other 5 star hotels we have reviewed however 10 mins walk away you will find a metro stop which will take you to where ever you want to go in the city. The neighbourhood is a clean, and safe area and is close to Diagonal, which is on the 5 KM shopping line and offers ready access to some of the best shopping in Barcelona. What's the best feature of this Hotel, they claim to offer one of the best breakfast's in town!
