With views over Las Ramblas in the very centre of the city the Hotel Monte Carlo Barcelona is housed in what used to be a 19th century palace and was headquarters of the Royal Artistic Circle of Barcelona. 

Hotel Facilities

The Hotel Monte Carlo Barcelona has no restaurant, which is fine when you are surrounded by good restaurants to choose from.  However there is a room where there is a buffet breakfast for 14 euros every morning.  There is also a bar where you can have your aperitifs. 

There is a laundry service at the hotel and on-site parking which costs 19 euros.  Room service is available from 12:00 until 23:00.  The hotel also has a small terrace where you can lie and relax in the sun.

Business facilities

The Hotel Monte Carlo Barcelona has one meeting room with a maximum capacity of 23 people.  The room is decorated in a modernist style and costs 300 euros to hire for the whole day (+16% tax) and 225 euros for half the day.  The room is equipped with audiovisual technology though you will have to pay extra for a PC projector.

There are 55 comfortable, well-designed rooms in the Hotel Monte Carlo Barcelona.  They are all air-conditioned and have hydro massage baths.  The beds are adjustable and have latex mattresses.  The rooms are also equipped with an interactive TV, 2 telephone lines and wireless internet.

Hotel Location and Facilities

If you want to be slap bang in the middle of town and the cultural hub of Barcelona then look no further than this hotel.  The Montecarlo is situated near the top of Las Ramblas, a 5 minute walk from Placa Catalunya and the metro stop of the same name.  Being on Las Ramblas means that every facility and most sights of interest are within easy reach.  There is a cash point right next door and a pharmacy opposite the hotel.  Also across the road is a large Carrefour Express supermarket where you can find a good range of food and cosmetics.  If you need the internet then turn left out of the hotel and walk for 5 minutes and there is a telephonic emailing facility.

You are also in walking distance of attractions such as Gaudi´s buildings on Passeig de Gracia, the Gothic Cathedral and the museums and little cafes in El Raval across the street.

How to travel from the airport to the hotel

Via Taxi A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around 25 - 30 euros depending on traffic and luggage.

Via Train The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gracia station, in about 25 mins and costs 2.80 Euros for a single ticket. Your hotel is a short 10 minute walk from the metro.

Via Bus The Aerobus will also take you from the Airport to Catalunya station and costs 4.25 Euros. The journey time is around 30 minutes. From Catalunya you have a short 2 minute walk to the hotel.
