|Reservation Information For Ronda Lesseps Hotel|
Ronda Lesseps Hotel is located in up-town Barcelona, behind the large Ronda Lesseps crossroads. It is a functional hotel that is used largely by people visiting the numerous nearby hospitals. Its entrance is reasonably difficult to find and at time of writing (January 2009) it is tucked behind a site that is undergoing building works. The entrance to the hotel is joined to a car park entrance. Sliding glass doors lead to a small and simple lobby area, with a front desk and two small leather chairs.
Despite the hotel's lack of touristic appeal, it is worth noting that it is located within 15 minutes walk of the famous Gaudí Park, Park Güell. It is also a five minute walk from the beautiful tree and terrace filled area of Gràcia.
There is no pool, gym or restaurant in the hotel. However. There is an area on the first floor that offers a buffet breakfast for €8.00 per person. The buffet is available from 07:30 - 12:00 noon. It is then open for a 'Menu del Dia' - this is a 3-course meal for €12.00 per person. It is usually traditionally Catalan in style. This area also contains a bar that is open until 15:00.
No pets are allowed in the hotel.
Check-in time is at 13:00 and check-out time is at 12:00 noon.
There are no meeting or conference rooms in the hotel. However, there is free Wi-Fi throughout the building. This costs €3.00 per hour. There is also a computer with internet access in the reception area. This is charged at the same price.
There are a total of three rooms in the hotel that are adapted for wheelchair users. They provide widened doors and a special bath. There are lifts to all floors.
There are a total of 60 rooms in the hotel, over 4 floors. All rooms include twin beds. An extra bed can be added for a surcharge of €30.00.
The hotel is located next to a road with lots of traffic. The windows are double-glazed. However, those wanting to guarantee a quiet nights sleep should request an interior room.
The entire hotel is non-smoking. Smoking is strictly forbidden in all rooms.
|Gràcia by night|
The hotel is located at the top of Gràcia. Its main purpose is its close location to many hospital buildings that are in the area. Despite this, tourists staying in the hotel will still find that there are tings to do. First and foremost, the hotel is a 15 minute walk from the famous Park Güell. This is a park that the architect, Antonio Gaudí was commissioned to design. He has added all of his trademark magic touches to the area. There are random colourful mosaics dotted throughout the park, cavernous tunnels and a platform terrace area overlooking the city. The park is free to enter and is a great way to while away the hours on a sunny day.
The hotel is also located in Gràcia. This area is popular for its nice bars, restaurants and terraces. In August it also plays host to a week-long street festival that is thought to be one of the best in Barcelona. In Gràcia it will also be possible to find most of the general amenities that you may need - internet cafés, banks, pharmacies, cash machines and supermarkets.
If you don't speak Spanish and you are unfamiliar with Barcelona booking a private airport transfer is a good option to consider. Once booked, you will have someone waiting to meet you at Barcelona airport to take you to your hotel. They will be holding a sign with your name on it. You need to book this service online before you leave by following the links below.
You can reserve a shared minibus transfer from Barcelona Airport to your hotel or vice versa. Note that this service is not a private service for you own group but the minibus will be shared with other passengers.
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around €25.00 - €30.00 depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gràcia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs €9.80 for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for €3.80. You then change at Passeig de Gràcia onto the Green Line metro and travel three stops to Lesseps. Your hotel is then 5 minutes walk from the metro.
Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus ' to Plaza de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is not within walking distance of Plaza de Catalunya. A taxi will take around 15 minutes and cost about €15.00. Alternatively, you can catch the metro from Catalunya to Lesseps, just three stops on the Green Line, from where the hotel is a 5 minute walk.
Hotel Ronda Lesseps provides functional accommodation at an affordable price for those who specifically need to be in the area. It is unlikely to appeal to tourists who will hope for a more picturesque or central setting. However, it is within two-minutes walk of Lesseps Metro station, placing the rest of Barcelona within reach.
