|Reservation Information For The Soho Hotel|
Soho Hotel is located on Gran Via, amongst a plethora of cool design hotels, in which it manages to hold its own. It is a three star hotel, so it does not offer the luxurious comfort of some of the four and five star hotels - the lobby area is small and the eating area is canteen-like, with hot plates and plastic seating. However, the hotel's designers have managed to work well with what they have, creating a space that is likely to appeal to fans of design. The lobby area is modern whilst remaining warm. Glass sliding doors covered in an orange undulating pattern lead to a long narrow space, with the front desk running down its right hand side. The front desk faces an orange glass wall with psychedelic patterns on it and a further layer beneath, screening images. This all sounds very 'space-age', but it is actually quite warm and cosy due to the glow of the orange light.
The hotel is situated on Gran Via - this is a large street that runs from Plaza Universitat to Plaza Espanya. It may not be the perfect location for those looking for a relaxing beach holiday. However, those who are interested in a cosmopolitan city break are sure to enjoy the wide street, lined with bars, shops and restaurants.
There is no fitness centre in the hotel. However, there is a pool on the terrace at the eighth floor. The pool is unheated, but it is open all year round from 09:00 - 21:00 . It is a small pool and is surrounded by sun loungers, tables and chairs in an area covered in wooden decking.
There is no restaurant, however the 'Soho Lounge' on the first floor serves a breakfast buffet. This is served from 07:00 - 11:00 and costs €13.00 per person. After the breakfast period, from 12:00 noon - 22:00 the lounge area offers snack food such as sandwiches and salads. Sandwiches start at around €6.00 .
No pets are allowed in the hotel. Check-in time is 14:00 and check-out time is 11:00 .
There are no business or meeting facilities in the hotel. However, Wi-Fi is available throughout the building at no extra cost. There is also a basement business centre. This includes two computers with free internet access, a television, a sofa and some desks.
There are two rooms in the hotel that have been adapted for wheelchair access. They have widened doors and a special bath. There are lifts to all floors.

There are a total of 51 rooms in the hotel, over 6 floors. All rooms are doubles, however, it is possible to add an extra bed t the room at a cost of €30.00 - €35.00 plus tax. It is also possible to add a cot to the room at no extra cost. Three categories of rooms are available: Soho Room, Urban Room and Terrace Room. There are four terrace rooms in total. These are 33 metres squared in size and they include a terrace. The Urban Rooms are the same as the Soho Rooms, however, they are at the corners of the building at the exterior.
All rooms contain air-conditioning, a television with satellite, mini-bar, a safe and a radio.
Those looking for quiet rooms should request those at the back of the building, overlooking a small park.
Firstly, it is essential to mention that Soho Hotel is located directly opposite one of Barcelona's most delicious patisseries - Escriba. Its beautiful tiled exterior hides a treasure trove for cake lovers. Glass cabinets encase intricate cakes that are like works of art. There is also a small café for those who can't wait until they get home to eat their purchases! And, a workshop style area where bespoke cakes are made is available for customers to watch the company's original and playful cakes being made.
Soho Hotel is located on the main road, Gran Via. This road links Plaza de la Universitat to Plaza Espanya. Plaza Espanya is home to the Fira de Barcelona. This is one of Barcelona's largest conference and convention centres. On regular occasions it holds high-profile international conferences. Soho Hotel is particularly well placed for those wishing to attend events at the Fira de Barcelona. It is a ten-minute walk, straight down Gran Via Cortes Catalanes, to the centre.
Those who wish to come to Barcelona in search of touristic action will also find Soho Hotel well placed. The Plaza de la Universitat, a ten-minute walk from the hotel, leads to two interesting areas - Plaza de Catalunya (at the top of the Ramblas) and Raval. The Ramblas is one of Barcelona's most famous locations and is a great place to people watch, take in the street entertainers and pick up some souvenirs. Those looking for a less touristy Spanish experience can head to Raval. This area is known for its interesting bars, independent shops and eclectic restaurants. Meson David, on Calle Carretes, is known for its great atmosphere and its affordable local cuisine.
Those in search of a shopping trip will be within 15 minutes walk of Passeig de Gràcia. This is the home of many of the designer shops. It is also where fans of design can find Vinçon - a large department store for all things design, where affordable purchases can be made.
If you don't speak Spanish and you are unfamiliar with Barcelona booking a private airport transfer is a good option to consider. Once booked, you will have someone waiting to meet you at Barcelona airport to take you to your hotel. They will be holding a sign with your name on it. You need to book this service online before you leave by following the links below.
You can reserve a shared minibus transfer from Barcelona Airport to your hotel or vice versa. Note that this service is not a private service for you own group but the minibus will be shared with other passengers.
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around €25.00 - €30.00 depending on traffic and luggage.
Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gràcia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs €9.80 for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for €3.80 . You then change at Passeig de Gràcia onto the Yellow Line metro and travel one stop to Urquinaona and then change onto the Red Line and travel to Urgell. Your hotel is then 5 minutes walk from the metro.
Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is 15 minutes walk from Plaza de Catalunya, or 5 minutes in a taxi that will cost about €6.00 - €8.00. Alternatively, you can catch the metro on the Red Line from Plaza de Catalunya to Urgell, from where Soho Hotel is less than a 5 minute walk and is on the same road as Urgell metro station.
Soho Hotel Barcelona is a knowingly stylish hotel - it offers intricately designed modern surroundings at affordable prices. Those in search of sunshine will enjoy the roof-top terrace, although those looking for an all-out beach holiday should choose a location closer to the beach.
