On the way in to the hotel there is a Mac computer that is available for customers to use. Its adjacent restaurant dominates much of the façade of the building and will appeal to those who enjoy traditional Spanish cuisine and atmosphere.
One of the hotel's winning features is its location. It is positioned in the centre of Raval - an area that has a lot to offer by way of culture - museums, art galleries and design shops. Hotel Turin is located close to the Ramblas whilst also being in the heart of Raval. The area of Raval has changed its reputation in recent years. An influx of independent bars, shops and restaurants to the area has taken away the seedy edge to many areas of Raval and made it a desirable destination for seasoned travellers. The opening of Spain's popular chain café, Sandwich and Friends, in the centre of the area is a sure sign that the area is becoming more tourist friendly.
Less than a minute's walk from the hotel is a restaurant called El Lobo. It is in stylish settings with large paper lanterns hanging from the ceiling, herb plants on the tables and mixed wooden tables. It offers a good value set menu (Menu del Dia), at €12.00 for three courses plus a drink and bread. The quality standard of the food is high.
Just around the corner from the hotel, within 2 minutes walk distance, is the bar, Dos Trece. This is a popular hang-out for locals. In the day it offers free Wi-Fi and good coffees. In the evening it comes alive with great cocktails and eclectic music. It is worth keeping an eye out for their monthly flea market that takes place in the basement - a great place for bargain hunting and a friendly vibe amongst the stall holders and guests.
The hotel's close proximity to the Ramblas ensures that you will not be far from general amenities such as banks, pharmacies, supermarkets, internet cafés and bureaus de change.
You can either arrange a private transfer or minibus shared transfer.
Private Transfer A private transfer is dedicated for you and your party only. The driver will be waiting at your arrivals gate holding a sign with your name on it. Your driver will assist you with your luggage to your own private vehicle and you will be driven directly to your hotel.
Minibus Transfer The shared minibus transfer option is cheaper than the private transfer. Unlike a private transfer you would need to make your way to a dedicated meeting point and the vehicle may be shared with other passengers. You will be taken to your hotel however there may be some stops for other passengers along the way.
You can reserve both the private or the shared transport by following this link:
Via Taxi: A taxi from the airport should take about 25 minutes and cost around €25.00 - €30.00.
Via Train: The RENFE train leaves the airport every half an hour and will take you to Passeig de Gràcia in 25 minutes. You can either use the T10 transport ticket from the airport (T10 costs €10.30 for 10 separate journeys on Barcelona public transport) or you can buy a single fare ticket for €3.80. You then change at Passeig de Gràcia onto the Green Line metro and travel one stop to Catalunya. Your hotel is then 5 minutes walk from the metro.
Via Bus: Take the 'Aerobus' to Plaza de Catalunya from directly outside the airport. The Aerobus generally runs every 10 - 15 minutes and the journey time is 30 minutes. The hotel is 5 minutes walk from Plaza de Catalunya, or less than 5 minutes in a taxi that will cost about €6.00 - €8.00.
Hotel Turin is well located, within a minutes walk of the Ramblas, whilst managing to remain in a serene area. Its style is modern and simple and may not appeal to those hoping for a more grand or ornate hotel. However, it provides convenient accommodation at affordable prices.
