Weather in Barcelona

Hola,

This month's edition of Barcelona Travel includes a link to an article explaining the single most important thing you must do to ensure you pay the least for your accommodation when visiting Barcelona. This one thing can save you around 20% off your accommodation bill.

You'll also learn how to determine what events and activities are happening in Barcelona when you're visiting the city. We also feature two new restaurant reviews sent to us by site visitor Paul Yates from the UK.

But first here’s an important news update regarding transportation between Barcelona Airport and the city centre.

RENFE Train Works Between The Airport And The City Centre.

If you’re intending on visiting Barcelona over the next 8 months then be prepared for the works that are being undertaken on the RENFE train line between Barcelona Airport and the city centre. Work is underway to upgrade the train line to support a high speed rail connection between the city centre and the airport. This will mean a quicker service for the future, but for now it means disruption and a little confusion for tourists visiting the city.

If you still wish to use the RENFE train you’ll have to change train mid-journey or there may even be a connecting bus depending on what services are available at the time. This can be a little disorientating if you’re not familiar with this journey and I would recommend that you consider taking either the Aerobus ( the express bus service that runs from all three exists from the Airport ) or a taxi as the preferred means of transport to and from the airport while the work is being undertaken.

How Can You Find Out What Events Are Happening in The City?

A question I get often is what's happening in the city when I'm in Barcelona? There are literally hundreds of events that are occurring during the year and the best way to find out what's on when you're visiting Barcelona is to go to the Barcelona town Council website events database.

There's a little-known database on the town Council website that will enable you to enter your dates of arrival and departure and it will list all of the events that are occurring during that time period.

The main problem is knowing how to find this page. The Web address changes frequently and there are no direct straightforward links to the page. So how do you find the Barcelona events database?

The way to do it is a little bit round about but it’s the only way I’ve found to consistently get to this page. Here's how you do it..

First you need to go to the town council website homepage (see below) and then click on the English language link. Once you're at the English homepage look for the link that says "Website Map" At the time of writing, the link to the website map is on the right-hand side of the page near the top. If you click on this link you'll be taken to a page showing the index to the town council site. Look for the title headed "What else do you want to know?" Then click on the link called "Diary". You’ll then be taken to the main page for the Barcelona events database. But you’re not there yet!

To find an event that is occurring during your visit click on the link "A to Z all Barcelona events" You'll then be taken to a page that will enable you to search for an event during the time in which you are visiting Barcelona. Phew! I hope you’ve got that!

Unfortunately there is no straightforward fixed link to this web page so that is why I've given you this lengthy explanation so you can find it every time you need it.
