This month we'll be looking at what clothes to wear and not to wear if you wish to blend in with the locals here in Barcelona. We have also put together some detailed articles on shopping in Barcelona, including shopping for girls, shopping for boys, and a World famous Spanish designer label Custo Barcelona.

But first what do you think to the new look to the site? I've spent quite some time working on the "new look" to the site with a graphic web designer after I had received feedback from many site visitors saying they would like to see a site design that was more representative of the city. As for the new logo, do you recognize the smiling iguana? This idea was taken from the famous gaudi fountain that can be found outside the main entrance to park Guell. Dress Code in Barcelona

There are some definite advantages to respecting the dress code in Barcelona. You will be immediately classed as a savvy tourist, someone who knows about the culture and life style here and as a result you’ll experience more of an authentic visit rather than a "tourist visit". However putting all the practical reasons aside there is also the added benefit of having a justifiable reason to do some serious shopping! So ensure your credit card is clear and get ready for a shopping trip to Barcelona.

Barcelona dress code

If I had to summarise Catalan dressing in a short phrase it would be "Conservative, sylishly fitted, using muted and autumnal- coloured quality fabrics". So, thank goodness that I don’t have to make such a summary! Of course this description is a simplification as there are many different styles of clothing here in Barcelona however the great majority of people living here follow this dress code.
