Site Visitor Review of Los Caracoles in Barcelona

We honeymooned there and had friends that visited Spain one year before us. They highly recommended we stop at Los Caracoles.

When we asked for directions to this restaurant, people at the shops in Las Ramblas had no idea where the street or the restaurant was located .Thankfully, someone overheard us and gave us directions.

The restaurant is deceiving. You see the bar from the door and it reminded me of the 'Cheers' bar. Boy was it crowded; people were standing against the wall. When we were led to our table about 50 minutes later (it allowed us to cozy up the bar and enjoy the drinks), you are escorted through the kitchen, up some stairs, through what looked like a medieval dining room, up more stairs to our table.

I ordered duck (not something I had ever or would ever eat!). My husband tasted my food and thought my dinner was better than his (not that his was bad). I absolutely loved the food, the service, the ambience.

Living in CT, we customarily put the credit card on the table for the waiter

There were a few people 'lurking' outside the door but that didn't stop us.
