This review was submitted by site visitors Paul and Louise from the UK on their recent trip to Barcelona.

We chose this as is it was given a star rating by the Time Out ‘Eating Out in Barcelona’ guide and we were attracted by the promise of good value traditional Catalan food in the oldest restaurant in Barcelona.

It certainly lived up to the ‘good value’ promise with our meal for two including starters, main course and wine totalling 30 euros.

The high points were an assortment of delicious mousses (fish, prawn and spinach, and mushroom) which we had for starters, goose stewed with apples and the excellent red house wine. We also sampled their squid rings and the very good Botifarra (local Catalan sausage) with haricot beans.

The packed restaurant had a great atmosphere and we received good friendly service.
