Supermarkets in Barcelona - A Guide to Some of the Main Supermarkets in Barcelona's Centre

Page Content

During a holiday it is always useful to know where your closest supermarket is. Whether you want to buy picnic ingredients, stock up your self service apartment, or simply buy a bar of soap you're likely to find yourself in the supermarket at some point during your visit.

In Barcelona supermarkets are often considered to be an expensive alternative to the markets when buying food. However, there are bargains to be found. You will also be able to buy certain items there that are not available in the markets - certain dried goods, toiletries, condiments etc.

In this article I will provide a list of a variety of Barcelona's supermarkets. It is important to check the opening times as these often vary in Barcelona. You will find some that are convenient when there is nowhere else to buy food.

It has large and impressive cheese, meat and patisserie counters. It also has an extensive 'international foods' section selling foods such as 'Tex Mex' and 'Latin American'.

The 'Supermercado' also offers a section catering for specialist food requirements including wheat free options and health foods.
