Barcelona has become an increasingly popular destination for stag and hen weekends. With loads of shops, clubs, bars and a beach to boot, it is a great option if you are looking for somewhere to go with a group who are searching for fun hen activities in Barcelona city.
Organising a hen do in Barcelona can be a little complicated especially as there is often a language barrier to overcome first. Therefore it really helps to plan in advance as much as possible so that when the weekend comes around you can relax and enjoy yourself. It's always fun to play things by ear but this can be a recipe for disaster if you're away in a big city that you don't know with a big group of ladies who have drinking and dancing on their minds!
I have put together some suggestions for activities that can be organised as part of a hen do. Activities for both the day and the evening have been covered, with all of the details necessary to book ahead of the trip.

Alternatively, a cheaper option for a hen weekend is to go to one of the stands in the cosmetics department and have your make up done. At the Mac counter, if you spend over €25.00 on their products they will do your make up free of charge. This way, you get a great make over with €25.00 worth of make up thrown in!
It is not necessary to book in advance for this. However, if you are going in a large group it will be far easier to make an appointment to ensure that you can all be seen together. MAC have English speaking make up artists.

If you are looking for a more action packed daytime activity why not try taking to the water. It is possible to book group courses for beginners sailing lessons. This will give you the opportunity to take to the sea with your friends, whilst learning a little bit about sailing. To top it all off in true Hen do style, there is a celebratory glass of cava waiting for you at the end of the trip.
For a more detailed account of the courses and details on how to book check our Sailing course in Barcelona page.

Shoko Restaurant and Club
To keep things as simple as possible on your night out it is worth considering booking a restaurant where you can stay to boogie afterwards. This is something that is offered by Shoko - a club on the beach that also contains a restaurant. They offer group bookings for dinner, allowing free entrance to the club afterwards.

Top Tips for a Hen Weekend in Barcelona
- If you plan on wearing fancy dress it is worth calling ahead to the places where you plan to go. A lot of bars, clubs and restaurants will not let in large groups in fancy dress.
- If you think you might end up slightly tipsy in town at night make sure that you don't bring any of your most treasured possessions out with you - draw some money out during the day and leave your cards and passport in your accommodation. Drunk tourists are a pick pocket's favourite!
- Remember that Barcelona is a town for night owls. Most bars stay open until 02:00 or 03:00 and most clubs until 05:00 or 06:00. Most restaurants open for dinner at 20:00 at the earliest. So you can get ready, have your dinner and go out later than you would in other countries.
- Be careful if you are making noise in the streets late at night. The residents in the Old Town do not take kindly to be woken up. It is not uncommon to find an egg or rotten vegetable flying towards your head from a balcony above if you are keeping up the neighbours.
Barcelona is jam packed with ideas for activities that will suit all ages and tastes during your trip. Have a great time in Barcelona and I hope that some of these tips have helped to make your trip a little bit easier.
