City Centre Transfers from Barcelona Port Barcelona Quay: Taxis, Buses and Walking from Barcelona Cruise Terminal to the City Centre

Page Content

Once you have arrived at Barcelona cruise port you will need to make your way from the terminal into the centre of Barcelona. You can go by foot, or alternatively you can catch a taxi. The North, South and East Terminals are located at the Barcelona World Trade Centre. This page will provide you with details on your various options for transport to the city centre, including timings, prices and frequency of transport.

How to get from the terminal to the city centre by taxi

On leaving the terminal building you will find a taxi rank directly outside the exit at the World Trade Centre. Staff at the terminal liaise with local taxis to ensure that there are enough taxis waiting at the rank to accommodate the amount of people who are leaving the cruise ship in one go.

A taxi from the terminal to the Ramblas should cost no more than €5.00. Taxis are also a good option for getting from the terminal to your hotel, incase you are not sure what part of town your hotel is in - they will be able to take you directly to your door.

How to get from the terminal to the city centre by foot

On leaving the South, North and East terminals you will find yourself in the World Trade Centre. It will take you about ten to fifteen minutes to walk from the World Trade Centre to the bottom of the Ramblas. On leaving the terminal building head down the pier, away from the World Trade Centre. At the bottom of this road you will reach a large roundabout. Turn right into the Ronda de Litoral and walk for less than five minutes until you reach the bottom of the Ramblas. This is an area called Portal de la Pau. This is where the famous Christopher Columbus statue sits.

Once you have arrived at the Christopher Columbus monument you will have various options for getting to different areas of Barcelona:

  • The Barcelona Hop-On Hop-Off Tourist Bus leaves from the Christopher Columbus monument. This service takes passengers to major Barcelona tourist attractions and monuments. You can buy one or two day tickets and can get on and off the bus where you choose.
  • There is a metro station at the bottom of the Ramblas - from here you will be able to take the metro to all different parts of Barcelona.

MetroMetro: Drassanes (Green Line, L3)

tip It is worth noting that when you arrive at the cruise terminal there will be a member of the Barcelona Turisme tourist information team available at a small temporary desk. They will be able to answer any questions that you have in relation to getting around Barcelona.

How to get from the terminal to the city centre by shuttle bus

Unfortunately there is no shuttle bus that will take you from the Port Vell terminal to Barcelona city centre. There is a port shuttle bus but it only services the Adossat Quay terminals. If you are arriving into Terminal A, B , C or D, check our Transfer from the Adossat Terminals page for information on the shuttle bus.

On arriving at Barcelona Quay you will find that you are basically already in Barcelona city centre. If you have a lot of luggage you may decide that it is best to catch a taxi to your final destination. However, if you fancy walking, it is a reasonably short and pleasant walk to the bottom of the Ramblas.
