Catalunya rail station is located in Plaza Catalunya, at the very heart of Barcelona. It has two platforms and is also linked to the Catalunya
metro station (Red Line, L1) and (Green Line, L3). On this page I will be referring to Catalunya overground rail station, rather than Catalunya metro station. The overground trains that operate out of the station are all local trains i.e. heading to a location in Catalunya. Although the trains are overground trains Catalunya station itself is situated underground. The company that operate Catalunya's trains is called Cercanias (part of the Renfe group) and you will notice that the trains are called Rodalies.
This page will provide information on the facilities within Catalunya station: parking, toilets, lost property, information desks, where to buy tickets, disabled facilities, police station, photo booths, public telephones and lockers.
The Catalunya station building is open every day from 05:30 - 00:00 midnight.
Lockers
Unfortunately, there are no lockers or left luggage facilities at Catalunya station. For lockers, head to Barcelona Sants Train Station.
Is there a lost property office at Catalunya Station?
There is no lost property service at Catalunya Station. If you have lost something in Catalunya Station and it has been found, it will have been sent to the lost property department at Barcelona Sants station. Customer Services Information desks (Atencio al Cliente) at the station
There is a station information desk in Catalunya station called 'Atencio al Cliente'. Throughout the station there are signs pointing you to the Atencio al Cliente office. Atencio al Cliente can provide you with information on the trains running from the station: ticket prices, timetables, how to buy tickets etc.

Tourist information
If you are looking for a Tourist Information point, there is one right next to Catalunya station. You will need to leave the station (at the Rambla de Sant Pere exit) and it is just across the road. Metro information
Throughout Barcelona there are TMB customers services desk. These are the desks where you can ask questions related to Barcelona's metro system. These are located at the following stations: Universitat, Diagonal, Sagrada Familia, La Sagrera and Sants. Unfortunately there is no TMB help desk at Catalunya Station. How to purchase your train tickets
There are only two ticket booths at Catalunya station (located next to the 'Atencio al Cliente' office - see above) and these are often closed. However, there are ticket machines throughout the station where you can buy your train tickets. If you have any questions about how to use the ticket machines, it is best to ask at 'Atencio al Cliente' (see above). You will also notice ticket machines in the station for a company known as 'TMB'. This is where you can buy your tickets for the metro.
Location of the toilets at the train station
The toilets at Catalunya station are located in-between the lottery ticket desk and the Peter's Confectionary shop (see above), 10 metres from the Atencio al Cliente office (see above). There are male and female toilets and one disabled toilet.

Monday - Friday: 07:00 - 22:00
Saturdays, Sundays and Bank Holidays: 06:00 - 00:00 midnight
Disabled Facilities
There are a total of five entrances to Catalunya station. One of these has a lift, making it wheelchair accessible: the Rambla Universitat entrance.
There is also a lift that can accommodate limited mobility travellers that goes from the main station floor to the platforms, that are on the floor beneath.
There is a disabled toilet in the station building (see above).
Police station at Catalunya station

If you are heading to the police station from the main station building, head towards the 'Centra Plaça' exit and you will see it on your left before you leave the building. There are different types of police in Barcelona (see link above for an explanation). The police in Catalunya station are Mossos d'Esquadra - they deal with crimes such as robberies.
In the police station there is a help desk, a public telephone, vending machines and seating.

Public telephones
Dotted throughout the station building you will find public payphones. There are three telephones located next the the Relay newsagents and four located opposite the Punt de Control desk.
Photo booth at the station
If you need photographs for a passport, identity card or even just as a souvenir, you will find a photo booth at the start of the 'Rambla de Catalunya' exit from Catalunya station. There are options for different photographs: ones that are the correct size for passports, ones that are the correct size for DNI cards and ones that you can make more fun with different borders.
Parking
There is a 24 hour underground car park located next to Catalunya station, with access directly from the main station building. Access to the car park with your vehicle is located outside Hard Rock Cafe at the top of the Ramblas.
The car park is open 24 hours. It offers a floodlighting system throughout the car park, showing where there are empty parking spaces. It also offers mobile phone coverage throughout the car park.
