Q:  Can you tell me please if there is a Metro station near where cruise ships dock? My wife and I will be visiting in April and would like to take the Metro to the Museo Picasso and Sagrada Familia. Thank you.

A: The nearest metro station to the Cruise dock terminals in Barcelona is Drassanes metro station which is on the green line. Drassanes metro station is at the foot of the famous La Rambla boulevard and is marked by the Christopher Columbus monument which you can´t miss. The Columbus monument is a giant cast iron monument with a Christopher at the top which you can clearly see from the cruise terminals as a landmark.  Depending on which cruise terminal you arrive at you can either walk to Drassanes or you can catch the Blue Bus  shuttle bus that stops outside the cruise terminals.  The walk can take anything between 10 to 15 minutes from the World Trade Centre (WTC) terminals but for the Terminals A, B, C and D (Palacruceros terminal) we recommend you either take the Blue Bus or a Taxi because it is a long walk (at least 2 km).  If you are walking from the WTC head towards the Columbus monument and when you arrive you will see the foot of the La Rambla. Start walking up La Rambla and on your left after a few minutes you will see Drassanes metro station.
