Q: I would like to know if there are any amusement parks in Barcelona.

A: There are two amusement parks, the nearest is Tibidabo amusement park and the second is Port Aventura Amusement park.

Tibidabo amusement park is the nearest and only 30 mins from Placa de Catalunya by a special bus service called the Tibibus that leaves from outside El Corte Ingles (a large department store). Port Adventura is outside Barcelona (1 hour 20 mins by train) The park was owned and operated by Universal Studios but now it is a separate entity. You can get there from Barcelona by RENFE trains from Barcelona Sants or Passeig de Gracia in Barcelona city center. Look for trains on the Salou line and you need to get off at the station called Port Aventura. Alternatively you can catch a bus from Barcelona Sants rail station direct to the theme park.

The journey time to Port Adventura is approximately 1 hour 15 mins from the city center. Please check the PortAventura web site for operating hours, admission fees, and details of their current attractions.
